Nobody tells me anything! Apparently this is old news, but the first I heard of it was today.
We're going to have the Phoenix Roadrunners in the ECHL starting next season! Yeaaa! Claude Lemieux (nhl.com) is the president of the franchise -- a real, actual hockey guy! (I'd be even happier if Jerry Colangelo weren't involved & if it weren't going to be at America West Arena -- where the parking will cost more than the seats -- but I can't have everything.) Yea-goody!
(There have never been Phoenix Roadrunners that I (or at least my mom) didn't have season tickets for. I need to get on that!)
I just saw Claude Lemieux play in a charity game and that guy can still play. He's had a lot of shady moments in his career that take away from his talent and great moments. Its a shame because if you strip away the cheap shots, he was a great player.
"When did they pass a law that says the people who make my sandwich have to be wearing gloves? I'm not comfortable with this. I don't want glove residue all over my food; it's not sanitary. Who knows where these gloves have been?" - George Carlin
Claude Lemieux was the player that everyone loved to hate and you either feared him or cheered him come time to play for the CUP.
Minor league hockey is great. Been to games in Hershey, Trenton & Atlantic City so far this year and would love to make it up to Hartford & Danbury before the season ends.
As a side note for ECHL fans out west, not only do you have the Roadrunners starting next year but you also have the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies moving to Stockton, CA.
Golf is harder than Baseball. In Golf you have to play your foul balls.

You made it as far out as Hershey, but didn't catch a Reading Royals game?

Aw heck, that Pens game doesn't count. I want to see Chicago/Detroit too, because I think a 1 San Jose vs. 8 Detroit would end up as a Wings sweep even as a tattered bunch in tatters.
