Maureen Dowd's Vanity Fair profile of Tina Fey (with SCANDALOUS photos by Annie Liebovitz!) (they're not so scandalous) takes you four pages to read, but what you're dying to know is on the second page:

Liz Lemon favors her right side. That's because a faint scar runs across Tina Fey's left cheek, the result of a violent cutting attack by a stranger when Fey was five. Her husband says, "It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen." You can hardly see the scar in person. But I agree with Richmond that it makes Fey more lovely, like a hint of Marlene Dietrich noir glamour in a Preston Sturges heroine.

Read it and weep, fella

I read an interview of her a couple years ago where she said her parents dont like it when the scar comes up (in conversation) so she never talks about it in public even though everyone keeps asking. I was pretty surprised to hear/read her husband spilling the story behind it so freely.

Scar or no scar, Tina Fey is hott. And not just "I like her for her mind"-hott, either. Regular hott.

Preaching to the choir, brother. Good to see my long-time profile is now America (and Canada)'s darling!

I hadn't noticed it until I heard someone else talking about it. I was too busy noticing her (regular) hot(t)ness.

She has been #1 in my books for the last 6 years. All my friends thought I was crazy six years ago when I put her on top of my list. She is now firmly in all of their top 5.

"Marriage is like that show Everybody Loves Raymond, but its not funny. All the problems are the same, but you know instead of all the funny, pithy dialogue, everybody is really pissed off and tense. Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of 'Everybody Loves Raymond', only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever."

I wonder if the scar will be less fetishized now that people know the story behind it.

(probably not)

I never realized that this was even news? I guess anything about her is newsworthy these days? I hope she sends Sarah Palin a nice fruit basket this Christmas.

I had just bent down to tighten my nuts, and there was a double yellow line, see? And next thing I knew, there was policeman behind me. He put a sticker on my helmet and tried to clamp me.

It's comforting to know that, in the event of a chemical attack at CTU, that the gas masks are nowhere near the rooms that can be sealed off. Palmer, Michelle and Tony are going to get their proper send-off.
