"I just heard from a few sources backstage at Raw that Kevin Nash did indeed suffer a knee injury during the main event of the show. He was in a lot of pain backstage after the show and from what I was told, WWE officials were working on getting a surgery date for him as soon as possible. We will be working on getting more details on this story as it develops. " Meltzer

Well THAT sux bigtime.

Metz has different stuff on his site
As of literally one minute ago, Kevin Nash had not been examined, but was in a lot of pain. He felt his left knee go when he planted his leg.

Regal got hit with The Perfect Swanton Bomb. You probably won't see it again in your lifetime. With that move done that perfectly performed on you, you have no choice but to cry.

I don't know what show he could announce. Tazz has Smackdown, and he's retiring from the ring soon so he's not going anywhere. It seems like to stop wrestling to go announce Heat would be a pretty uneven trade off. Plus, while Regal is great is small doses, an hour of his stereotypical british character would get really annoying.

You know, while I don't like seeing Kevin Nash in the ring, no one deserves to be hurt like that, you know?

I hope he gets well, but when he does get well, I think he should stay out of the ring.

Anyone catch HBK's closing words on the mike? Questioning if HHH will 'stand with us' and threatening if he doesnt? I thought that was kinda goofy with Nash clutching his at knee in the corner.

As much as I like Regal on the mike, considering the quality of his matches, especially tonight's, I'd hate to see him in an announcing role. With Nash injured (and if he has ANY sense at all, retiring from in-ring duty), he'd be the perfect choice to join JR and send Lawler packing. I can dream, at least...

i just re-watched the knee blowout in super slow-mo

nash boots T
T starts to roll on to his belly, but rolls in the direction of his corner.
Hebner is standing near BUBBA, as he just told goldust to get back to the turnbuckle [and to say, that nash is going to charge the corner]
nash takes a big step to avoid book's legs and hebner, and when he takes the step, his leg buckles...it's hard to describe

stand up...look at yer feet
12 o'clock is forward.
3 o'clock is towards your right...

it looked like his leg buckeled to the 3 o'clock...

make any sense? either way, his knee is fucked...

too bad...everytime the clique comes back together, they get bit in the ass....*sigh*

count me among who was looking forward to booker vs nash

I don't know about that. I'd think Regal could bring a lot to the announce table, and I would love to hear him give a shot at it.

Which scuttlebutt is it that has him heading that way?

Why didn't Nash wait for traffic to clear before he did his bum rush to the Duds/Dust/T corner? Hell, he could have soaked up the pop for his boot to Booker for at least a few more seconds. It would look bad to do the rush then, but it would be no bad or worse than the rest of the night.

Well, normally jumping over a couple of people doesn't cause your knee to blow out. It's a freak injury that's no one's fault, something completely innocent, just like HHH's quad last year. While I like poking fun at Nash while I watch, you don't like to wish injuries on anyone, and I hope he can recover from this.. but what came about wasn't his fault, or Bookers, or Hebners, it was just a freak accident.

You're right, this stuff has been pretty predictable right now. It's kind of funny, some of it has to do with how well they have been doing at planning ahead. Some examples:
1. The Undisputed Title Match at the PPV: Kurt Angle has no chance. Why? Brock Lesnar has the title match at Summerslam. It would be crazy for them to put the title on Kurt, and then move it off of him before Summerslam. The only way there's any chance of a title change after this PPV is if The Undertaker retains. They do that occasionally, have the champ retain, but then he loses it on the next show.
2. The Triple H / NWO situation. There is NO way Triple H is joining the NWO now. Having Michaels threaten him this overtly makes it so obvious. Triple H is not the kind of guy to be swayed by threats. Instead, these threats should make him realize that the NWO are no longer his friends.
3. On a different NWO note, I just want to predict that the Big Show will soon leave the NWO, either through him leaving or through being kicked out. All the signs are there. At the last PPV, he was the only one Triple H didn't hug (because he doesn't know him that well). Then, tonight, I notice that a) he's the only one not wearing an "nWo" logo, and 2) in HBK's speech, he mentions how "that was before your time Big Show". I see him finally snapping after one of those "tough love" incidents.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that being predictable really sucks. The only way you can make it work is to not do what everyone thinks you're going to do, a.k.a. "shocking swerves" and those really aren't good long term either.

P.S. I wish Kane were healthy. I would have marked out if he had been the 5th member in the main event.

In regards to Mr. Boffo's predictions:

(Prediction #1): If Kurt Angle were to win at Vengeance, why would he have to lose it before SummerSlam? True, having Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam would be a heel vs. heel matchup. But one of those two men could still turn face before SummerSlam, or someone else might be able to get involved in that main event.

And what about The Rock? What kind of chance might he have at Vengeance? If we assume that Angle has no chance (which is not a safe assumption, particularly considering what happened on SmackDown), the match could still go to either The Undertaker or The Rock. Therefore, it's not as predictable as one might think.

(Prediction #2): True, it appears that Triple H won't join the nWo, especially considering the threats that HBK made against him. But if The Undertaker is turning face like everyone says he is (and frankly, I don't entirely see it) why isn't it reasonable to think that Triple H might turn heel? And if he turns heel, joining the nWo might be a logical progression of that heel turn.

Of course, one can argue that Triple H is right now too big of a star to be a member of a stable.

(Prediction #3): Well, Big Show doesn't know Triple H that well as a friend, but they have feuded before in the past. Triple H has also dressed down HBK the night after WrestleMania IV and has had a love-hate relationship with X-Pac. The only guy he has no real in-ring history with is Kevin Nash-- and he might from way back in the 'mid-90s for all I know.

So, in the end, with all due respect, you contradict yourself. You say long-term planning sucks because it makes things too predictable (and frankly, I think there are several ways they could go with several things), and you say shocking swerves suck because they're bad for long-term planning. So what do you propose?

Well, let's look at this. Shocking swerves aren't good because if they happen often enough, people no longer care about the character. You might as well call it the "Big Show Syndrome." That's what I meant. As to what should be done, I must admit that's a difficult matter. I'm not going to say that hotshot booking is good, because it isn't. But I think you need to plan in some intrigue. Make it so the audience could realistically see the situation going either way. But it can't just be out of the blue. Take your example about the possibility of Kurt (or Brock) turning face. There has been no sign (other than Brock yelling at Paul *once*), of either of them turning, as opposed to the Undertaker, who is obviously turning face. If either of them end up as a face within, say, 3 weeks, with no prior indications of a turn, it seems too hotshoty.

So I guess that's my thought. A turn should never be either completely obvious, or completely unexpected. The result of a match should never be completely obvious (see Jericho/HHH), or completely unexpected.

Boy, am I getting long winded. So let's go back to the real world. The Undisputed title match: it's true we don't know who the winner is going to be, but IMO, it's never a good idea to go into a match knowing that one of the participiants (sp) isn't going to win. If we all know Kurt's not going to win, then it's a waste to even put him in the match.

With regards to the HHH situation, I would have the Big Show try to leave because of the "tough love" he got earlier, then have HBK or Nash tell him that he leaves the nWo when THEY decide he does, and then beat him down. Eventually, he gets over it, and decides he'd prefer to be in the nWo anyway. Even so, the precedent is sent. All someone has to do is to point out that HHH was once in a group with them, and then have the commentator wonder aloud if Triple H will be beat down if he refuses. Then, again, there is some tension. First, what will HHH decide? Second, if he decides not to join, will they beat him up? They beat up the Big Show, but then again, HHH is a long time friend. Maybe they'll respect his wishes. So you've got an unknown result, but on the other hand once it happens, it makes sense. Or whatever.

Hmm..
Benoit and Eddie getting in Books face..
Could it be they are cutting the nWo-Booker feud and moving on? Benoit or Eddie vs Booker T would be awesome.

Nash injured again...sux for him and this means that again the nWO angles need to be rewritten. So..IF Show was gonna get cut that won't happen now.

Do you think they are heading for one match for Shawn?
HHH vs HBK?

Jeff Hardy winning the European title was anticlimactic because it seemed like a crappy consolation prize. It would be like Barry Bonds coming short of the Home Run record last year, but going to the minor leagues and setting a record there.

I think they used ALOT of Booker and Goldust tonight. They better be creful not to overexpose them.

Lesnar needs to get more time on the mic and stop standing around like a clueless idiot while Heyman does his talking and thinking for him. Is that what agents really do? Heyman seems to be stealing heat from Lesnar and that's not good since Lesnar doesn't have alot of it to steal.

I don't know if the ending of the Main Event was supposed to feature Booker jobbing, but I was still pissed off at the ending nonetheless. Booker has been a jobber in the WWF, and I'm tired of watching him hit his head on the glass ceiling.

I didn't get to see a replay of Nash's injury, but it looked like a fluke when I saw it. I was laughing so hard that I almost missed the end of the match. It reeked of a ploy to sit out more, but I guess he's really hurt. The guy hurts himself outside of the ring in a place where only his friends are going to be and now this injury. $700,000 well spent Vince.

The Rock segments were kind of out of place since he's not supposed to appear on RAW. I enjoyed the older clips, but the other clips reminded me of why I can't stand the Rock. I hate what he's become and I see no signs of turning back. He was the man when he had his sideburns and shirts and actually was good at trashtalking.

Jackie can't talk or wrestle, so why did she win Tough Enough? 10 weeks of television to give us fluff. She's not that damn pretty in my opinion and any girl can get a breast augmentation. Somebody is really high on Jackie in the WWF front office, but why?

Why is Bradshaw wearing cowboy stuff now? That stuff migt fly in Texas where Bradshaw is over, but you look like a dickhead anywhere else.

Bubba needs to be reunited with D-Von because I don't see a singles career in his future unless he can become a booker ala Dusty Rhodes. If he must be in a tag team, I would rather have him be in one with D-Von. I guess they were stale before, but the crowd always popped for the 3-D. I didn't find his match with Benoit very entertaining, and Benoit can get great matches out of the least likely candidates.

Harvard Chris has heel charisma, but he needs to come up with his own stuff instead of reading poorly scripted stuff.

I think the WWF needs to groom someone to take Lawler's place. They would benefit from a heel announcer, but I can't think of anyone with enough personality to pull it off. JR and Jesse Ventura would turn the mother out. Heyman did a decent job, but he didn't have the charisma that Ventura had. I would rather see Jim Cornette get a shot at commentating than Lawler.

What a extremely strange Raw this was starting off with Vince telling the viewing public that one of Raw's stars and champion isn't going to bother showing up tonight? and I extremrly quiet crowd, Phily is usually loud I thought it was long island. And double duty for 4 of its stars. Very strange Raw indeed

Booker T interview was weak, I mean it sounded like a Sid interview talking about what his daddy sayz... Booker v. Eddie - pretty decent match

Benoit v. Bubba - too bad the crowd didn't care at all. Pretty physical match. setting up for the main event.

Trish/Bradshaw v. Nowinski/Jackie Gayda - what can you say about this. Nowinski's psyche football challenge was the highlight and went downhill FAST. Jackie looked completely lost. Trish sets something up Jackie walks away. The bulldog is set up she walks about 8 feet forward, Trish sits there waiting for her to come back Jackie never does, Trish goes for it and Jackie ducks, I thought after the match Trish was going to kick her in the teeth... To top it all off after the match Lilian announced "The winner of this match Trish Stratus" totally forgetting about Bradshaw...lol... great way to end this segment. (no wonder Molly didn't do the Molly_go-roung last week when she went up top and just hit a normal dropkick, If Jackie messed up the MollyGoRound like she messed up tonight. One or both wold be in the hospital)

NWO in ring - I'm a little tired of the name dropping (Hall) I guess they want to live off their cliq past but whatever, I've said before what I think of the nWo, bunch of guys in a time warp.

Flair v. Richards - another STrange one, Flair is wrestling heat jobbers now? well atleast someone submitted to his figure 4.

Heyman/Lesner interview - I actually liked this segment, better then last weeks Heyman interview... Dreamer got in some vicious shots on Lesner and RVD hit the VanDaminator on Heyman. Is on concussion legit?

Jeff Hardy v. Regal - One of the better matches of the night, JEff totally missed his first highspot the running up the turnbuckles and flipping, he hit nothing of Regal but Regal timed it and sold it great. Best Swanton I've seen in a long time.

Ten man match - lots of kicks and punches, Was Goldust even in there? The match was okay (I had a feeling they tried to recreate one of the first matches after the RAdicalz jumped ship with a 10 man tag on Raw, that worked much better then this). The interplay with Shawn was fine... NAsh comes in does all of ONE move and "AHHHHHH" that was even more noticeable then Trips cause Trips continued Nash just went down and ref signaling something with his arms and everyone jumping in. I'd be interested what the finish would be.

VEry odd thing when Shawn said "Triple H make the right choice or this might be your future" I looked at the scene of Nash on the floor clutching him leg and I'm thinking isn't Triple H looking at his past almost a year back.

other stuff. - Jackie continues with the awful interviews, it takes her a minute to say 5 words. I thought Trish in the middle of a Jackie sentence would say "just spit it out" ... That vender sure looked like X-pac, I'm still convinced it was X-pac, why would anyone WANT to have the greasy rat look?... Regal crying was surreal and that new sport they pimped tonight looks EXTREME ....extremely stupid

Line of the night : I have to go with Lilian after such an awful segment for her to end it with a mistake was classic "Winner of this match Trish Stratus" with no mention of Bradshaw...lol
