| #1 Posted on 20.5.03 1710.24 | After the 4.4 last week, RAW dropped back down into its customary 3.6 with 3.5 and 3.8 hours. Time to present a theory on why the 1 week bump: Warm Beer had his first match that people watched in years (considering the April PPV projections are very low, this would be the first match viewed by many), they saw his match, and realized yet again why they turned off WCW. Now, for those keeping score: Ratings have dropped 2 out of the 3 weeks since the head of TNN/Spike stated that the WWF/E ratings would be rising with the war over.

| #3 Posted on 20.5.03 2005.56 | I think its just the lack of an overall positive direction of the company as a whole. It just all seems week to week with little thought of what they'll be doing 6 months from now.
If the plan is to build to Goldberg taking the title from Triple H at SummerSlam, hey that's good but I don't see any potential heel challengers being built up for Goldberg. They're not getting anyone ready so a Goldberg title run looks pretty flawed this far out.
As an isolated two hour show, RAW has been pretty good the past few weeks but if you dare to look ahead, it's troublesome. | drivebye14

Yeah! Planning ahead is for morons!
The ratings drop is clearly all Flair's fault...see what happenes when you don't have Triple H and Nash beating each other up for 20 minutes a show?

Highest rated quarter was a 4.4 for HHH vs Flair. Silly me though, I forgot when a HHH segment gets high ratings its because of the other guy. Low ratings only should be attributed to him.

Not building up heels?! Uh, Jericho, Christian, HHH, Test(soon enough), one or other of RVD/Kane (probably). So far Goldberg's only fought Christian out of that lot and theres no reason why even he couldnt be built up as a credible opponent (at least on RAW if not for ppvs) by the time Goldberg wins the title. On top of that I'd fancy that we might even see an HBK heel turn in the not to distant future.
Either way its a much stronger line up of heels than on say, Smackdown where you've got Big Show(been, seen, squashed), Cena(promising but green), and A-Train(insert insult).

Or maybe the 4.4 last week was a blip and we all shouldnt get so hung up on micro-analysing every individual ratings movement.
EDIT: just clearing up after myself, nothing to see here....

| #7 Posted on 21.5.03 1335.38 | It takes time to build up a strong heel contender, lots of time. They tried to do a rush job with Cena to get him ready to face Brock and it didn't work because it takes a lot longer then a couple weeks to build up a viable contender that people would want to pay money to see.
We'll see in four months if they have someone ready to face Goldberg or if they fall back on the same old same old because they haven't built anyone new up. | Venom

| #9 Posted on 22.5.03 1015.51 | What do you mean by a "blip?"
Did an extra million viewers all just happen to say to themselves in unison "gee, I should be watching RAW right now" and then at the same time all say "gee, I don't want to watch this anymore" for no particular reason? Was it a jedi mind trick?
There is a *reason* for a bump in the ratings, and finding the reason for that bump is key to finding out what viewers want.
And besides, what would the internet be without micro-analysis?

| #10 Posted on 23.5.03 2346.20 | Oh well back to reality.
But WOW a 0.8 drop after a PPV. That's got to be some sort of dubious record. Even if last week was a freak thing it's only 0.1 over the rating of 2 weeks ago and this week was a PPV.
