So I had a weird dream last night ...

I was leaving a wrestling event late at night, when I realized my friends had ditched me. I was standing alone in the rapidly-emptying parking lot, wondering how I was going to get home. When who pulls up on a motorcycle? None other than CRZ! He offers me a lift in his sidecar. But this wasn't just any sidecar ... it was a specially-modified LayZBoy on wheels attached to the hog! I jump in and dream-CRZ takes off full speed. Unfortunately, dream-CRZ was either drunk or incompetent, as I was heading straight for a concrete pillar in my comfy couch sidecar.

I jumped out just before the crash. The sidecar was sheared right off, and dream-CRZ didn't even stop, vrooming off into the night.

Interpreting the dream -- Freud would note the castration-anxiety overtones of the shearing-off of the sidecar. Adler would probably find inferiority overtones from the fact that I get abandoned not once but twice in the dream. Jung would find unconscious expressions of extroversion/feeling tones to balance my conscious life (Jung rules by the way).

The Dream's Message To Me -- Don't read old Nitro recaps on /slash while drunk right before bedtime. Yup.

Past hills of chambermaids' dark bare arms and fields of muscles quilted to the bone,
Right now I'm flying over, yeah right now I'm flying home.

That is so weird because i had a similar dream...

I was leaving a wrestling event late at night, when I had to take a piss, so i went to the men's room, as I was leaving I caught myself in the mirror and proclaimed "what in the lime green hell??". See somehow I had turned into CRZ!! So I got in my motorcycle to go home and figure out what was wrong with me. As I was leaving I saw Gavintzu standing alone in the rapidly-emptying parking lot, wondering how he was going to get home. So I pulled up on my motorcycle and offered him a lift in my sidecar. But this wasn't just any sidecar ... it was a specially-modified LayZBoy on wheels attached to the hog! He jump in and I took off full speed. Unfortunately, I was either kinda drunk and really incompetent, as Gavintzu was heading straight for a concrete pillar in his comfy couch sidecar.

He jumped out just before the crash. The sidecar was sheared right off, and I didn't even stop, vrooming off into the night.

Interpreting the dream -- Uhhh...i have a strange and twisted mind? Also I don't like orange juice with pulp.

DJ -- sadly no it is not butter. It's a plaster-cast deathmask of Friedrich Nietzche. A spooky old European custom that is kind of cool now I think of it. Who needs old photos when you can have a deathmask sitting on your mantlepiece?

Quezzy -- Ooooohhhhh I hope you have a nasty nightmare featuring Freddy Kruger and you wake up with NO NOSE! That would learn ya.

I would never admit to dreaming about CRZ in public.

Here's one that's not CRZ-related. Hell, it's not even Kim-related or Guru-related. Nonetheless, a true story about a dream. Well, two dreams.

Around the end of August or very beginning of September, I had a dream that involved a girl upon whom I had a crush back in my sophomore year of high school - over ten years ago. I don't remember much about it - but I have this vague recollection that she smiled to me, we spoke cordially with each other, a little like relations were between us, about 10 years ago.

After I had that dream, I was thinking of bringing up the dream to some of my good friends and asking them if I should track her down to say, "Hi." I dismissed the idea as nuts, and let it slide.

Then, on September 14, I had another dream. Don't remember how it started, but I remember spending some time in a club that may or may not have been connected to a hotel. Turns out this girl was there, too - she may or may not have been singing with a band.

At this point, I should mention that she was a hell of a soprano singer and actress back in high school. She's apparently still acting, too.

Back to the dream - after her set, I don't remember if I spoke with her. A woman I knew from undergrad (whom I don't particularly care for) was also at the club, and she may or may not have been managing her. My crush/singer friend must have been planning to release an album or go on tour or something, because I remember seeing a list of songs and musicians who would be playing on them. Turns out I was to play drums on at least one song, if not a few of them.

At this point, I should also mention that she knew I played drums and percussion, as we both played in the school orchestra.

Back to the dream again - after that point, I recall walking into the hotel part, and going upstairs. I wandered into some room, which looked a little bit like my sister's old room at my parents' house in New Jersey (though it didn't entirely look identical to the room in real life). Don't remember what I did in there... wandered a bit, eventually left the room, went back downstairs.

About the only other thing I remember is going down to the hotel lobby and calling my ex (who I was still good friends with until recently, and who lives in Alexandria, Virginia - right outside of Washington, D.C.). We may have had some plans to study together or something, but I called her to either let her I would be late, or I wouldn't make it at all.

Now, this was the second time in three weeks I'd thought of this old crush. We hadn't spoken to each other in over nine years. That was the first part that weirded me out.

The second reason why this dream creeped me out hit me the day after I'd had the second dream. In addition to my ex living in D.C., the crush currently lives in New York. And it happened three days after 9-11.

This reminds me of a quote from The Restaurant at the End of the Universe by Douglas Adams:

"He has personality problems beyond the dreams of analysts."

Coda - A few days after I had the second dream, I discussed it with a close friend of mine. She suggested that maybe I should track my old crush down. I found the old crush fairly easily, and left a voicemail for her. She called me back the next day, and we've been communicating as friends via email since then. I briefly saw her while I was in the Northeast for Christmas, when she got me a comp ticket to a show in which she was working in the crew.

Like I said, true story - dream and otherwise. And the truth is stranger than fiction, sometimes.

I had an odd dream once.

Me and my youth group went on a trip, I don't remember where, and we stopped at this mall for the afternoon to get something to eat. All my friends wanted Chick-fil-a but I wanted Wendy's so I went to Wendy's by myself and got my food.

I got my food and sat down and noticed this big group of guys, sort of like a gang of people. Anyway I'm sitting there and I look in the garbage can, and i'm talking a little round garbage can, not one of them big rectangular ones that they actually have in Wendy's, and i see a pair of jeans. And they look alright to me. So I go over and take the pair of jeans out of the garbage can to look at them, then the leader of the gang stands up and our conversation goes something like this.

Him: What do you think you're doing??

Me: Just looking at these jeans.

Him: Those are my jeans!

Me: Well they are in the garbage can.

Him: Well they are garbage!

Me: Look alright to me.

Him: Well you can't have them!

Me: Why not? You don't want them.

Him: Because they are garbage!

Me: Well I'll take them then.

Him: No you can't they are mine!

Anyway, eventually I give up and put the jeans back and then go to the bathroom, the leader of the gang is now suspicious of me so he sends in one of them to watch me. The guy was pretty nice actually, saying that his boss was overreacting and all that, but then another guy comes in and says that the boss says that they got to take me out. So they beat the crap out of me in the bathroom at Wendy's.

THe strange thing is that I recognized everyone in the gang. Half of them were people I knew in high school and the other half of them were the cast from the movie Remember the Titans.

I've only seen CRZ in a dream once. He was on TV shilling the new season of WOW. I really can't say I was paying attention though because I was busy explaining to the newly WWF hired Stevie Ray that there was no way in hell Triple H would let him do a slapjack.

Okay NOW I'm getting creeped out.

If I appear in any more dreams, I'm not sure I want the entire group to hear about it. ;-)

This is, after all, one of our top search hits from Google. I guess that either says something about the popularity of wrestling, or the scarcity of quality sites with that picture...
