Hey everyone. So this week, I really, really, really love ONE College Football play. And that play is:

LSU -5.5 @ West Virginia

This will probably be the only college game I play this weekend, and I am putting all my eggs in one basket, so to speak.

Simply put, the West Virginia offensive line lacks athleticism and aggressiveness. They play too high, and have shown that they can be exposed in space by fast, athletic defenses. LSU will rotate eight players along the defensive line to keep WVU tired all night. The Tigers will have the advantage in terms of quickness, athleticism and power at the line of scrimmage, which should lead to disruption in the backfield and put West Virginia in 3rd and longs all night. That pass rush will hound WVU into some awful throws that the LSU speedy secondary will pounce on.

On the other side of the ball, West Virginia also doesn't have the DBs to hang with LSU. At 6'4, 207 lbs, Rueben Randle has a size advantage over every DB that can play him, so its either double him or get roasted in single coverage. If they double him, that opens space for Russell Shepard. Keith Tandy (WV's #1 DB) can't go step for step with Shepard.

I see this being 30-13 for LSU.

As for the NFL, I am still clueless over there. There just aren't the "gimmes" that you see in College, likely due to the deep talent pool on every team.

I like the Lions -3 at the Vikings a lot, but that means the Vikings will probably win by 21.

I also don't think they can make a line high enough in the Steelers/Colts game. That line could be Steelers -17 and I'd bet it. The Colts are the worst team in the NFL. They can't move the ball, and they can't stop the run. I expect that game to finish 31-10 Steelers, so I guess that means expect it to be a nailbiter throughout

I agree LSU should whip WVU. But never, ever forget that counting on a Les Miles team to be consistent is not a good idea. Yes they have looked great. I still expect them to stumble at some point. Probably not this week though.

I'm a Bills fan. And now I have something that is downright scary.....

Hope. And trust in Chan Gailey & The Buffalo Fitzpatricks.

Had a nice weekend with Michigan/Oregon and the Saints/Ravens.
I honestly don't think LSU would be unbeaten if Jefferson was the quarterback.

Is Oakland really this good? Their defense seems to be making plays when they need it, McFadden looked like a beast, and Campbell was competent enough.

The Jets looked terrible, by comparison.

Way to go Buffalo.

Packers are probably going to repeat.

The Steelers O-line is going to be fat guys found around Heinz field if they keep this up. It is amazing the Steelers' defense bailed them out and then proceed to let Curtis Fucking Painter throw on them for a good drive. The team doesn't look old, they look terrible on offense.

Speaking of ugly games, ND topped a rather shit Pitt team. My wife joked Notre Dame is the proud sponsor of my weekly heart attacks. Even with all this bitching, they both won which is good. Bills and Raiders are for real. Nice of the Pats to forget to build a defense this year when everyone is throwing about 300 to 400 yards a game. I can't believe the Lions who were 0-16 two years ago are tied for a top of their division and one of the few teams in the NFC that I can see beating the Packers. As much as I hate Philly, Vick does have a point that play needed a flag.

Tampa lost 26 straight in '76-'77 and ended up in the NFC Championship game in 1979, so there is precedent for the turnaround.

The Lions rise from 0-16 stems from:

- Getting better management.
- QB staying healthy.
- Suh adding some skill and swagger to the defense.
- A GREAT draft over the last two years.
- Megatron being the one WR they drafted that did work out.

Oh, and also;

After decade on having little to talk about, the Bills are 3-0, beat the Pats ending a 15 game losing streak, and have come up big after having being down by a considerable amount the last couple weeks.

Besides Buffalo, Detroit has to the other surprise team this year. Already a few weeks in and it is making out to be an interesting NFL season.
