I have purchased a webcam (Logitech QuickCam) to provide live shots from within our college radio station. Can anybody give me DETAILED instructions on how to get this thing going? I have basic HTML skills, but I can't figure out how to do this. Any help is much appreciated.

Don't you find it a BIT unnecessary to stomp my balls for asking a question?
The instructions in the box are three small sheets in length and only describe how to use this camera with MSN/AIM/Yahoo messengers. It does not describe how to set up a continuously refreshing webcam that someone can access via a web page.
And I have googled this subject a million times and all I get is a bunch of webcams for Cindy/Betty/Suzy/Taylor the 19-year-old bisexual college student from wherever. I need real help. Wikipedia didn't have anything, either.

Try this: Click Here (webdesign.about.com)

I was helping a friend do a similar thing, and we found it via Google. I think he got everything up and running, I never bothered to really check

EDIT: FYI - Google "Webcam Web Page Setup" and you'll get a whole bunch of similar stuff, from the super detailed to the basic.

Well, to be honest, maybe I was MISREADING the capital letters. It SEEMED a bit DEMANDING, but like I said, I may have MISREAD it.

That said, you need to do the following:

* determine if you want to do a single still shot at a time, a recurring interval, or streaming video

Well, really, you need to stop there. The instructions get very different from that point forward.

In theory, you could've used the shell:// url scheme for that, but most browsers have blocked that due to security concerns. I would probably run an apache server with php scripts to perform similar functions, for example PHP Ping.
