...and yet, we didn't.

Old links should still work but you might want to edit your bookmarks, if you have any

Old cookies will probably hang around forever, or until I properly put a script together. You can delete them manually if you're so inclined in the meantime.

Ummm, is that it? Guru was supposed to make this announcement, so that's all I remember of the high points.

Oh yeah, let us know if you see any oddness related to the URL change. Thanks

Drat. Those of us that have yet to be Wiener of the Day will never get to be Wiener of the Day. "W of the Day" it is then!

Smooth changeover. I just had to log in again.

I take it that was the cause of the sudden log-out while I was on the site?

I see that all the referrals are updating to the new site, but will the name change affect the pagerank here for the next go round of the googlebots? Could this be part of an elaborate scheme to reclaim the board?

I wondered why I wasn't JACKED IN!!

edit: And now I notice I'm not JACKED IN at all...rather I'm LOGGED IN. Doesn't really carry the same weight...

I take it then that my submission of Chermake Hot Dogs, the official Hot Dog of Lambeau Field, may never see the light of day at the top of this lovely Board?

Sorta - the board thought you didn't have a cookie. And, technically, you didn't!

If I have everything set correctly, the bots should relist all their entries just like they did with the LAST name change. Our PageRank will probably fluctuate between the two names for a month or so or whatever, and then settle on the new one. Our Alexa one will be hosed, however. ;-)

Would you settle for "the name became available?"

In case anyone was wondering:
weinerboard.com still tells you that you can't spell, however it is updated with the new URL info.
In case you're thinking about messing up the new URL, thew.com goes to a web hosting site.

Um, so we can't call each other "Wieners" anymore? But we're WIENERS, damnit, not wussy little "w"'s!

Eh, doesn't really matter to me.

Edit: So are we gonna "WWE" this thing, and always refer to it as if it's been "The W" (even though that was a nickname some people used anyways), or what?

I'd just like to say what an honor it is for me to be the FIRST EVER "W of The Day"! I'd like to thank CRZ, Guru, and all those who supported me.

EDIT: WHAT?! Two-time WIENER of The Day? Somebody's overlooked something!

I'll say for the record that while I realize telling someone you're reading "The W" is a lot less embarrasing, the fact that we are no longer officially Wiener's really sucks. I could deal with the fact that we were no longer a 'Ville' because of legal reasons. Other than that... meh?

Yeah, well, who would have thought that the word wiener would look bad on a resume.

Besides, it's so much catchier.

Someone with mystic cron abilities will need to update the wiener of the day script.

Yeah, being just a plain old W's ain't quite the same. If it helps at all you'll always be a Wiener in my eyes Jag

Oh, and have I been paying no attention lately or did the 'chickens' just become X's too after the name change?

Notice I did say "Official". Unofficially, we're all a bunch of wieners here.

-Jag

And where the hell would you put this on your resume???

You can take the W out of the Wiener, but you can't take the Wiener out of the W.

Under Web Design/programming?

If he wanted to prove to a potential employer that he was competent in SQL and PHP, this place is proof enough.
