Though there are no major rule changes this season NBA referees have been ordered to make more foul calls that will allow for an increased offensive freedom for its players. This new move is an attempt to curb the NBA’s continuous scoring downturn.
Any contact from the midcourt to the free-throw line extended and areas along the baseline toward the basket will be called a foul. This includes forearms.
