Apparently, the Lion have called a press conference at 3:30. The popular theory right now is that Marty is out and Mooch is in. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let it be true. It'd be about time that we had a competent coach in Detroit. Mariucci might actually be able to turn the Lions into a playoff team within a couple of seasons.

Of course this is the Lions, so it's probably nothing.
EDIT: The Free Press is saying Marty's already been fired.

That would mean the Lions made an intelligent move.

Are you sure about that? It's not exactly their recent track record...

Although it's not like I would argue with it.

If Mooch isn't far behind, the Lions better have someone lined up already. Making the move this late (without having someone ready to take the job) would be a bad move.

Typical for the Lions, though, so who knows.

Oh yeah, the guys on the Socre (Chicago) were wondering if they could land Marty as the QB coach. Good move, if they get him.

It's official. I'm hoping that Millen has something up his sleeve as far as trying to get Mariucci. They'd probably be willing to offer him the control he wants, being that no one else in the organization seems to be able to make intelligent personnel decisions.

I'm a Bengals fan. I'm trying now to adjust to what should be an "intelligent personnel decision" after the last decade of not having many... :-)

I really don't have much right to be hopeful, but I really am thinking that Marvin Lewis is going to get some serious production out of my crew.

Bucs win Super Bowl. Next day Lions make a smart move. Doesn't the Bible predict this as the last sign the world's coming to an end?

speaking of the lions, does anyone know how many years are "left" on Barry's contract....maybe a new coach could lure him back to the grid-iron...

I assume that the Lions won't hire Mooch they at least interview a few of the "hot" black coaching candidates.
