My avatar...the Big Lebowski, no question about it.

Boogie nights comes in a close second. John C. Reilly = comedy genius. Phillip Seymour Hoffman rules in both of the above movies.

A movie that, I'm ashamed to admit, really cracks me up is that Brady Bunch movie. "Go put on your Sunday best kids! We're goin' to Sears!!" That's just classic.

A few for my list:

While Blazing Saddles was excellent, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN was the pinnacle of Brooks's career -- simply flawless from top to bottom, and still hysterically funny.

Someone mentioned Duck Soup, but I'm torn as to which Marx movie to suggest. Monkey Business is my personal favorite, but Duck Soup is almost as funny and a bit more cerebral, and A Night at the Opera also slays me.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Kentucky Fried Movie, The Pink Panther Strikes Again and the Grail as honorable mentions.

Hot Shots, was funny to me. But I liked The Naked Gun better. The first time I watched Home Alone was really funny too. Of course I was in a theatre full of drunk college kids, so maybe that helped.

Inspired to look through my video/DVD collection, I have to put "My Best Friend's Wedding" and "In and Out" out there as well as a couple more I can't *believe* haven't been mentioned yet - "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls." "Liar, Liar" and "Me, Myself, and Irene" were also very funny.

I'd forgotten about "Home Alone." I don't think I've laughed *that* hard at a movie since then.

Those are all great movies, and I think I just have to give props to Kentucky Fried Movie for being well... Kentucky Fried Movie. You just can't top that. However, on the subject of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back... it's very funny, but it's only REALLY funny if you've seen all the other movies. Otherwise, a lot of the interactions are just kind of vague and end up as filler which slows the movie down.

Spaceballs, hands down. A close second to Monty Python and The Holy Grail, but Spaceballs is the king....

EDIT: Followed very, very closely by Slap Shot. How the hell did I forget THAT movie?

My two all-time favorite movies are Slap Shot and Billy Madison. I even got a buddy of mine from Wisconsin (non-hockey fan) hooked on Slap Shot.

A lot of these movies are funny, but only Dead Alive (unrated version) can be the funniest ever.

The zombie baby.

"I kick arse for the lord!"

my sig

all priceless

for my money, Riki-Oh (The Story of Ricky) is a close second. It's the movie the "exploding head" clip on the old "Daily Show" came from.

Ill have to go with

1. Friday- This movie is a classic. "48 hrs" for Chris Tucker. Ice Cube should be ashamed of himself for doing any sequels to this.

2. Ace Ventura Pet Detective- Another Classic. Jim Carrey will never be as funny again as he was in this movie.

3.Clerks- I like all Kevin Smiths other movies but this is his best because he was still hungry. I cant understand why the guy who played Randall didnt become a big star. He made this movie.

Both vsp and Mr. Famous got to it first, but I remain convinced that not only is "Young Frankenstein" to mind the funniest movie ever, it's my personal all-time fave regardless of genre. Brooks never gets credit as a "film artist," but the crew he assembled gets the production details down cold. It looks and sounds like an old horror movie, and that helps the parody laughs come out stronger.
And Hackman may have the single greatest cameo ever.
"But wait... I was going to make espresso..."

The latest edict sent down from on high ... -------------------------------------------
My Funniest Movies of All Time are: ( in no particular order)

Office Space
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
" " History of the World
Every Kevin Smith Movie
Friday
Caddyshack (followed up by maybe the WORST sequel of all time)
Both of the Austin Powers

and I can't believe nobody mentioned Kingpin, I love that movie

I think if I was the last person on Earth, I would still wear pants, because I don't need to look down and have that kind of disappointment each and every day.
