| #1 Posted on 16.5.06 1828.31 | Instant Rating: 5.63 | First off, I have a E Machines computer with Microsoft XP on it.
My home computer seems to have some kind of virus going. At random times, which I mean seems to be every few minutes. You now when you press the right button on your mouse and it gives you that little menu to "back, reload, skip, etc". Well that keeps popping up. And at times my mouse icon will fly all over the screen and the start menu will pop up and sometimes random things will open.
I have run a couple different virus programs but they pick up nothing. Can anyone help me out with this and how to get rid of it?

If you have a different mouse you can try, I would recommend unplugging the mouse and using a different one. If you are using a PS2 mouse, try a USB one. If you are using USB, try PS2.
It sounds like your input device is what is bad though, not anything else. It sounds like it is randomly registering left and right mouse clicks. This may not be software related at all.

Following on from Guru's observation, this is a pretty common fault for laptops (notebooks) with either a glide pad or that little nipple thingy as they wear out or get gunge in them.
I use dial-up mode, but I won't be able to remember what day I was WOTD every time I see one of my posts and I can't ask the boss because *he* won't tell me. ;)
