The upside here is that he can't do any worse than Scott Skiles. Unfortunately, that's about the only upside. But if the rumored Dwayne Wade and Miami's #2 for Chicago's #1 trade goes through, there's no reason Del Negro shouldn't take this team to the playoffs, especially in the Leastern Conference.
I'm baffled that Vinny Del Negro, Michael Curry, and Terry Porter (!) are getting high-profile head coaching gigs while Avery Johnson is sitting at home waiting for his phone to ring. The man won 67 games, for crying out loud!

Yea, that trade's not as much happening as something to talk about during a down period. Either way, the team should've been a playoff team this year.
It's tough to figure out what kind of coach you're getting when you get info like this:
Little is known about his basketball philosophy since he never has coached before.
I think I can safely say he's inexperienced, but I don't know what else. He could be defensive-minded, he could be offensive minded, he could favor playing Noah at PG - who's to say. If only I had been paying more attention to those past midnight airings of NBA Matchup.
As bad as my bracket looks now, nothing warms my heart more than seeing Dook lose and lose badly. As an added bonus, over the course of the past two games Demarcus Nelson finished off his collegiate career about as poorly as humanly possible.
