It was both a smark comment and a storyline comment. If it is the NWO, then Vince's character has recruited the men whose purpose was to destroy him and his company.
If anything, it was the most omnious comment ever on Raw. It was just plain eerie.
A Fan- And so it begins...
God, yes it was. I was actually quite spooked by just the expression on Vince's face when he said "You'll see". I was convinced then and there that he was ready for the mental ward, and needed to go there before he went on a mass murder spree or something.
That's why Vince is one of the two McMahons I don't mind on my TV. And unlike the other, I won't mute the TV when he's on.
I got three phone calls from people within 2 min of that interview ending, all saying one thing..."Good God, it's going to be Hogan isn't it?" I was so sure he was going to come bumbling out at the end of Raw, with the rest of the nWo with him, killing main events for 1000 years to come.
My vote is for the Dungeon of Doom to make their stunning return.
I didn't think he was alluding to returning superstars at all. I thought that whole thing was a setup for the "split." Vince can't co-exist with Flair, so he does something even he will regret, breaks up the company he loves, and leaves to start a new one with half the WWF talent. Vince, Flair and the fans all lose by breaking up the WWF. Something like that.
Anyway, there should only be one mystery angle on TV at a time, which means I'm going to be upset if I don't know who Goldust is after by SmackDown!
"Excuse me, do you have any EuroDisney T-Shirts?" January 2nd, 2002. Paris, France. My proudest moment.
I haven't seen it yet (being in Europe and all) but it sounds awesome.. And yes I think Vince is playing to the smarts, smarks, marks and innocent bystanders alike. We'll see a plot twist or two before we find out who or what he is talking about..(even if it is the nWo) HBK, Hall, Nash, Hogan, BRET HART, Dusty Rhodes, Shockmaster, Ultimate Warrior..just a few names..no wait.. Vince is gonna bring back Mae Young and the Hand!!
The real reason HBK has never made that much talked about comeback used to bounce out of synch with the other Nitro Girls.
I have to echo the sentiments of most of the other posts here. It was a great show, though I don't think it was quite as great as Slammiversary and No Surrender were. No Surrender which I thought was TNA's best PPV of the year so far.
