Any ideas of a video player that works with hot keys, even when I don't have the player focused? (I just got a two monitor setup, and I want to watch videos on the other monitor while doing other stuff on the primary, some of which won't be easy to change over from). I tried Windows Media Player and VLC, but unless I'm missing something, they appear to only work when I've already clicked on the player window. Basically, I'm looking to be able to do something like Ctrl+Alt+Home to pause and unpause (kind of like Winamp, but I'd rather not use Winamp for video if I don't have to).

Hmmm... couple of things it might have been. If he did it via the keyboard, it may be the "High Contrast" scheme in windows. I think you can turn this on with some combination on the keyboard.
