Daniels wins 10-man Ultimate X Gauntlet: As predicted (by me!), Daniels wins by dint of a XXX reunion: Senshi & Skipper took out Lethal while Daniels grabbed the Big Red X. Those people upset by Daniels' "Main Event Push" being aborted may be placated to know that it looks like Daniels will be the leader of XXX, with Senshi and Skipper as his support, rather than the "everyone's equal" setup last time around.

This match had the scariest moment of the night: Daniels, hanging upside down from the X structure by his ankles, being yanked off into a Diamond Cutter by Kaz, leaping from the turnbuckle. Yow.

I would've left out Sharkboy and replaced him with Hoyt or Runt.

VKM beats Basham and Damaja: To counteract Christy Hemme, VKM introduce the "Voodoo Queen" Roxxi Leveaux. She's all Gypsy-like and shaggy and twitchy and walks REALLY SLOW. Crowd chants "WHAT IS THAT." I do not consider this a positive development.

(Wikipedia says that she's Nikki Roxx; I can neither confirm nor deny.)

This match SUCKED. OF COURSE. VKM has reportedly ASKED for their releases, but TNA won't give it to them. WHY TNA WHY

James Storm beats Rhino with a beer bottle to the face during a Gore attempt. Then Storm and Jackie Moore hose down a bloody Rhino with a pony keg.

Motor City Machine Guns beat Jerry Lynn and Bob Backlund: GOOD. Although the MCMG STILL needed Kevin Nash's help -- he Big Boots Lynn, and then Shelley and Sabin finish him off with a series of kicks. Some great double-team stuff from MCMG. TNA's tag division is really looking up, although the bookends of 3D and VKM are unfortunate.

Eric Young and Gail Kim beat Robert Roode and Miss Brooks: I am sick of this, of course, but enjoyed the ending, which involved Kim killing Brooks with a missile dropkick, then drop toeholding Roode onto Brooks; then, Kim covers, but moves out of the way of Roode's attempted breakup, causing Roode to elbowdrop Brooks! Kim and Young dropkick Roode out of the ring and Kim covers Brooks for the win.

Christian Cage beats Chris Harris: You know, I really liked America's Most Wanted, and I really liked the last couple of matches that Harris and Storm had against each other, but they kinda bore me in any other configuration. And so it goes.

Cage wins with a rollup reversal precipitated by a returning Dustin Rhodes -- TALK ABOUT BORING ME.

Sting and Abyss beat Tomko and AJ Styles: Abyss wins with the Black Hole Slam on Tomko after a fun match. No complaints from me. James Mitchell appears afterward to taunt Abyss.

Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle beat Team 3D: Samoa Joe gets the pin after SCOTT STEINER clubs Ray with a steel pipe -- Angle tries to Angle Slam Ray -- Joe clips Angle and grabs the cover. Another fun match, which saw the return of the Angle Moonsault! It's been years, hasn't it?

I was surprised to see Scott back so soon -- Rick showed up as well. Joe walked out with three belts -- I assume he will give one to Angle on Thursday.

Anyone else watch?

Didn't watch, but I will do this Wednesday. Rushing Scott Steiner back into action, be it by his own volition or TNA's insistence, is possibly the stupidest thing they could do right now. He suffered a serious injury and had major surgery, AND he's a walking steroid timebomb. That stupid decision is closely followed by letting Angle do the moonsault.

If they use XXX right, they could be a real boon up and down the card. Senshi and Skipper in the tag division, Daniels in the X division or world title hunt. Good to see Skipper back too.

According to the Wob, the Dudleys turned heel on the crowd after the show went off the air. WTF?

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

3D actually wrestled fairly heelishly throughout the match, plus there were several breakup-teasing moments where D-von and Bubba Ray stopped each other from getting the pin. So it's not really surprising that they're going in a more heel direction.

I wondered what could make me care even less about VKM. Oh wow, PAIRING THEM WITH A FEMALE VERSION OF THE BOOGEYMAN. That'll do it! Okay so she's white and doesn't eat worms, but it definitely seemed like that was the feel they were going for with "Roxxi Laveaux."

The XXX reunion was a cool idea, but maybe the announcers should have explained it a bit more, or made a mentioned of the team before the reunion happened. Because I have been watching TNA since their deal with Spike started, and so I only knew XXX from reading about stuff online. I would assumed that many others would be in the same boat as me sans the internet info.

Overall it was a good PPV; but like Karlos said, I just can't get into AMW as solo competitors so that bogged down the show a bit.

Didn't see the show, but agree about (the former) AMW. But I would say that Storm is much more entertaining in his drunk, redneck role. I am sure it comes naturally to him. But Harris is as vanilla as they come. He makes Lashley look like The Rock in the personality department.

I enjoyed them as a team, especially during their refreshing heel run near the end. But it seems like Storm has a better chance of breaking out right now.

The front page of TNAwrestling.com has a YouTube video of Borash interviewing Joe after the PPV. Right after that is Borash at ringside, and while we can see Team 3D work the crowd, we can't hear one word of it.

They have been getting the "3D sucks' and "same old shit" chants (both true) for a while now. So a heel turn is due. In ECW, no one, and I mean no one, could incite a crown like the Duds.

Unlikely. Unless the stips changed between the announcement of the match and now, Joe won both tag team titles for himself, and can choose any partner he wants to defend them with. He might still choose Angle, but there's nothing that says he has to.

It's completely likely. Welcome to TNA where nothing makes sense. Logically, the last person Joe should choose as a tag team partner would be Kurt Angle - Joe hates Angle, Angle hates Joe, and neither can trust the other - so by TNA logic, that's the only possible choice.

It would be nice if TNA would debut some ex-ROH performer as Joe's partner. But we know that won't happen.

How long is it until the next PPV? Is there any chance they could have Joe not choose any partner before then, and have a match between Angle and Joe, winner takes all (all titles)?

I expect that Joe will elect to defend the tag titles by himself. That makes more sense than any tag partner you can put with him. Hell, have him destroy Daniels to retain the X title, and then have him defeat Angle for his two titles. Then Joe can walk around like The Great Muta or something.

So judging by the ending of the match last night, does this mean the Steiners now become the de facto FACES? The mind boggles!

They seemed to be the faces during that great promo/confrontation last month anyway.

I have thought that they were leading up to Joe winning all 3 titles eventually. But I have to say, even though I am all for putting the guy over, that would seem like a bit much. Even Joe defending the tag belts alone successfully makes your entire tag division look weak.
