Doug Williams vs. Brian Kendrick: This involved dueling submissions more than the Ultimate X stipulation, which got almost no play at all. Kendrick couldn't get his chokehold fully locked in, and finally Williams got sick of him trying and used it on Kendrick. Kendrick's arm drops three times (a rarity!) and Williams retains.

Brother Ray vs. Jesse Neal vs. Brother Devon: Devon spent the first half of the match locked in his room. When he finally came out, he and Ray stared each other down and then -- swerve! -- turned their attention to Jesse Neal. WAIT DOUBLE SWERVE they start fighting each other! They actually got me there. Neal accidentally gores Devon, then eats a Bubba Bomb. Ray wins.

(Tommy Dreamer and company watched the match but didn't do anything.)

Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne: Love wins -- and wins the title -- via DQ when a woman in a leather catsuit and helmet arrives on a motorcycle and attacks Love.

Okay, see, the stip here was that is Velvet Sky or Lacey von Erich interfered that Rayne would be disqualified and Love would win the title. We couldn't tell who the interfering woman was, but the ref assumed it was one of those two, so he went ahead and DQ'd Rayne anyway. Taz said this was the wrong call.

(Okay, so pwinsider says that the mystery woman was Tara, but she sure didn't look like Tara to me, plus that makes no sense at all -- unless it was supposed to be Velvet or Lacey, but neither of them can actually ride a motorcycle, so someone else was "playing" one of them, and we're supposed to -- oh, you know what? screw it)

AJ Styles & Kazarian vs. Rob Terry & Samoa Joe: Here's another great example of tonight's trend -- take a CAN'T MISS setup and somehow miss. Rob Terry? Bleah. Well, at least he ate the pin, with Kaz & Styles teaming up on him with a springboard legdrop and a springboard 450° for the pin.

Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez: "Can Hernandez get Morgan up for the Border Toss?" you're probably wondering. The answer is: No, he can't. "How about if he tries again?" No, EVEN WORSE. Hernandez tries a splash of the top of the cage instead but misses. Morgan handcuffs him and starts climbing, but Hernandez breaks the cuffs and flies out the front door for the win.

Jay Lethal vs. Ric Flair: Every single spot you'd expect, adequately performed. Lethal wins with the Figure 4.

Motor City Machineguns vs. Beer Money: Good match until they decide to do the thing where there are two refs who count two different pins and then argue about who won. I don't understand this -- it's not original or even particularly uncommon -- the only thing it does is destroy the momentum of the match. Anyway, the match is restarted and MCMG win with their crossbody/neckbreaker doubleteam.

OMG MCMG WIN!!!!!!!!

Good match except for the dumbass part.

Kurt Angle vs. "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero: Mostly mat wrestling stuff. Angle wins with a grapevined Angle Lock. Not bad!

Rob Van Dam vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy: Some okay stuff but felt really short. Anderson eats a Swanton, but Abyss breaks up the pin and chokeslams Hardy ONTO Anderson and covers both at once -- RVD breaks up THAT pin by 5 Star Frog Splashing ALL three of them! RVD gets the 3 count on poor, pancaked Anderson and retains his belt.

Middling show. Good efforts and fine outcomes ruined by weird, tortuous paths to get there.

Don't overthink it, Karlos. We're talking about a belt that someone won earlier this year after pulling it out of a box. Nothing about the KO division makes sense anymore.

Was there ANY reason for Desmond Wolfe to be there at all other than to get beaten up again? Is he in the doghouse or something?

Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez: "Can Hernandez get Morgan up for the Border Toss?" you're probably wondering. The answer is: No, he can't. "How about if he tries again?" No, EVEN WORSE. Morgan trying to take the Border Toss was one of the most brutally bad sequences I've seen in a long time. The finish NEARLY made up for it, because Hernandez busting through the door for the win was a pretty neat visual.

Jay Lethal vs. Ric Flair: Every single spot you'd expect, adequately performed. Lethal wins with the Figure 4.

Flair's REALLY too old to have his tights pulled down. This was surprisingly decent and hopefully, it's Flair's last match. For reals, this time.

    OMG MCMG WIN!!!!!!!!

The dopey sequence with the double count was just unnecessary. All it did was confuse everyone.

Kurt Angle vs. "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero: Mostly mat wrestling stuff. Angle wins with a grapevined Angle Lock. Not bad!

Match of the Night, without question. I really question the wisdom of bringing back Pope from injury when he's still at the peak of his popularity and jobbing him out to Angle, but this loss won't mean anything in the long run. Good stuff from both guys.

Rob Van Dam vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy: Some okay stuff but felt really short. Good, serviceable main event. Not much else to say.

See, I thought this was an ok show, but it felt REALLY boring. It wasn't blow-away good and it wasn't mind-numbingly terrible. There was hardly any angle progression and there's really nothing that makes me want to tune in on Thursday. Overall, it was borderline boring.

If it's determined Love schemed to win the belt via this kind of DQ, that's a smart move on her part.

There was nothing in this match that didn't make sense. Like Tracker said, it is actually a great scheme by Angelina. What didn't make sense was pwinsider reporting it was Tara. I don't think we can blame that on TNA.

I was reading elsewhere before the PPV that Heyman and TNA were seriously in talks about him coming in. After this PPV, I say "do what it takes".

I don't think it was a "bad" show, persay, but it was just marred with questionable finishes and pretty poor pacing (really? you're going to put the tag match, Angle and the Pope, and the main event back to back to back and not expect the crowd to get tired out?)

On the contrary, however, I thought the MCMG vs. Beer Money was definitely match of the night. That had the most emotion in a TNA match I've seen in a long time - I was actually on the edge of my seat for some of those near falls (though some of that might have been because I was so sure TNA *wouldn't* put the belts on them :x). The finish, while lame and confusing, didn't bother me too much - at least not as bad as some of the other finishes. I look forward to some more matches between the two. I thought that it really had a dynamic of some of the old school tag team matches.

I thought Angle/Pope was good, as well, but the crowd was understandably tired out from the previous match. The predictable outcome also took away from it, since you knew Angle wasn't going to lose just yet. Still, it's an Angle match so I can't complain.

I thought that the main event was decent (at least better then last months) but the finish was horrible. This is the person that has used glass, and barbed wire, and tossed people off of structures at Impact so why were we supposed to believe that last night was him being "totally out of control". I don't know, it just seemed to... end. No post match interaction with Hardy or Anderson, nothing really with RVD.

I chuckled at the commentators mentioning Rob Terry was the longest Global Champion ever. Really? I mean that's not too hard when he hasn't been on television for the past month.

This match was decent but I don't see why Desmond Wolfe was made to look like a clown, yet again, for no reason at all. Apparently he lost a dark match to Jeff Jarrett, prior to the event too (PWInsider says it was a DVD exclusive match).

Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne: Love wins -- and wins the title -- via DQ when a woman in a leather catsuit and helmet arrives on a motorcycle and attacks Love.

Love is the four time Knockout's champion. Of course, two of those times she was handed the belt as a result of moronic booking ideas.

So let me get this straight. Mysterious women arrives on a motorcycle. Get's Madison DQ'ed so she loses the belt. Rayne has a fit and then gets on the back of the motorcycle and leaves with the woman that just cost her her title?

That was the payoff to the "career killer" angle that saw Roxxi and Tara (presumably - which makes even less sense) get sacrificed? Ugh.

At this point I'm determined that they just want to kill the Knockout's Division and be done with it. ><

The problem with that is that if it was a scheme by Angelina, why did Madison just ride off with the mysterious woman? Plus, Angelina's entire focus this feud was to take out The Beautiful People - wouldn't it have made more sense to actually pin her instead of relying on a confusing tactic to win?

Wait. So Hernandez has Hogan's Hall of Fame ring too? I thought that the effort in this match was there but it didn't really seem like that much of a grudge match to me.

I think it was an overall decent show but nothing special - The tag team match and Angle vs. Pope match saved it, though. Those two matches are reason enough to order the replay, honestly.

I find it stupid from the get-go to break up Team 3-D at this point. Together, they're a legendary tag team which has won just about every tag team belt you can think of, and which still manages to put on a pretty good show. Separately, they're two overweight, aging wrestlers with limited workrates.

But to split them up when you're starting an ECW invasion angle? That's a special brand of stupid.

This is the same company that broke up The New Age Outlaws (or whatever they were called in TNA) and then wondered why their retrospective singles pushes failed too, though.

They need to pull the trigger on the Dreamer thing too because it's bordering on getting old really quickly if they keep showing up in the crowd and no doing anything.

I don't look forward to seeing them use an ECW infusion without being allowed to use the ECW properties. Even the chants would be verboten.

I know there is a no spoiler rule here but I don't think this is really a spoiler in that way. At Impact this week they start a best of 5 series between Beer Money and MCMG, with the first match being this week. So I presume we'll get this match the next four Impacts and the PPV.

Isn't it a bit presumptuous to assume a Best of X series is going to make it all the way to the final ma.. nevermind.

Only if you think it's weird that I know Dreamer and Raven settled their differences after handcuffing CM Punk and pouring beer down his throat in ROH several years ago.

Plus, didn't Dreamer and Raven win the tag titles on the first episode of ECW on Spike? Can't remember if things fell apart after that, but they were wacky tag champs who don't get a long for a while.

Raven came out to the ring after Dreamer won the ECW title back in 2000 and teased putting the beatdown on him but hugged him instead.

I'll start off by saying I was damn annoyed at the DQ during the WWE title match, 'Taker had that won, and he should be the new champ. Kurt put up a hell of a fight, but it was over, and Dead Man Inc should be holdin the belt as we speak.
