Does anyone else out there besides me having trouble driving after playing Vice City for a long time? You know, that feeling that you want to hit pedestrians or slam into other cars or drive 100+ mph?
The same thing used to happen to me when I played Carmageddon.
You're all so WONDERFUL. Why did they ever have to remove you from the continuity? You'd have made for MARVELOUS stories. You WILL make marvelous stories. And the FIRST story of the new world will be a story of REVENGE! -- The Psycho Pirate, Animal Man 23, May 1990.
Driving home from a friend's house one night at 4am after several days of non-stop GTA3 I found it very hard to remember that I can't just run red lights and drive in speeds exceeding 80 mph. I also kept seeing the buildings of Liberty City superimposed on my vision. That was a fun drive home.

With poison running through your veins, and death marching solemnly towards you, heroic acts become more of a necessity as you see your time dwindling.
Vanquishing your enemies, making amends to those you have wronged, and leaving words of love and kindness for those around you become second nature as your own mortality looms
However, true strength lies not in these last desperate acts, but in the actions of one who has to get out of bed the next day and face the consequences of doing that which you believe is right.
That happened to me last year after playing GTA3. I got the game for Christmas and pretty much played it non-stop without leaving the house at all so the next time I was in a car, I pretty much went insane. Luckily, I wasn't the one driving I guess it'll do that to ya...
It hasn't happened in Vice City (though I did have some funky dreams after playing it for a real long time.) I did do the crazy driving bit after playing some of the Twisted Metal games.
Come to think about it...I'm probably the person they talk about who shouldn't be playing these games in the first place. Considering the erratic behavior, dillusions and all...
Oh well! :D
Oh I've had to keep myself from trying to steal police cars long before GTA3 came out. It's just one of those things.

That I should probably get checked...

Sometimes I catch myself thinking in Tony Hawk mode after a long gaming session. I think it has to do with pattern and shape recognition... stuff that looks like a ramp or a jump just kinda leaps out at you.
It's only very mildly distracting.
Your analogy is similar to:
"They already have cars that you can drive, why not blenders?" "I can already write with my hands, why not my pancreas?" "They already have beef that I can eat, why not granite?"

The "SpookOMeter" from GTA 3 gets used alot between my friends and I. The fact that we have use for a spookOmeter is something that i should probly be worrying about though.....
After GTA3, every time I saw a car that looked like one from the game (especially trucks that looked like mules), I would think to myself, "hit triangle". My finger might even have twitched, too...
And on a non-GTA-related note, I have been known to play Tetris in my mind while sitting in a public restroom and looking at the tiles. Or I'll play it on a brick wall, or any sort of “block” surface.

I was horrible about the Tetris thing for a long time. If I've just got done playing it, I'll see it on the backs of my eyelids as I try to sleep that night. It's annoying.

I used to have that problem with Gran Turismo. I would play that game for hours on end. When it was time to drive somewhere, I would be doing 85-90 on I-8 without even blinking.

The only after-effect I've had from Vice City would be that I've found I have a real need for a gigantic mission, with a regenerating helicopter on the roof, heh.
That said, when I took my little roadtrip to Georgia, I'd bust on up to 80 with one little afterthought. Of course idiots were STILL passing me, fuggin two-laned I-75....what was I saying again?
After I've been playing Grand Tourismo 3 and Vice City, you do NOT want to be on the road with me when "She Sells Sanctuary" by the Cult is on the radio. Has anyone bought the Vice City soundtracks? I can't imagine what *that* would do to my life...

I'm trying to see if I can get them for Christmas. And you're right, playing the game and then listening to the soundtrack in the car would probably result in a trip to prison, the hospital, or worse.

But that would just cost you a couple hundred and twelve hours, right? "Ekedolphin is an innocent man!"
i had a huge problem after playing Virtual On! and Time crisis. i would drive down the road and swear that things were ready to leap out from behind the trees...
DDP: Well, there's this little passage I got memorized, Diamond Dallas 25:17. Sort of fits this occasion:
"The path of the bookerman is beset on all sides by the inequities of the talented, and the tyranny of workrate freaks. Blessed is he, who in the name of tradition and sports entertainment carries the stiffs through the matches of Nitro, for he is truly the workrate's keeper, and the finder of lost quality. And I will lay the smack down upon thee with great vengeance and furious roid rage those who attempt to outwrestle and expose my brothers. And you will know my name as the Bookerman, when I lay my catchphrase upon thee!"
I go to a parking lot and say to myself "If I just place a grenade there, I can blow up that car...which will blow up that car...and then blow up the cop car..."
So that thing about having PSN up by Tuesday? Not so much. I guess they have a few hours left if you're generous with time zones, but I guess they don't plan on keeping promises when they keep finding more problems. In other vital news:
