|Vic Chestnutt, 45, died after overdosing on muscle relaxants (artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com) today.|
Kristin Hersh broke the news of his OD and (then-)comatose state via her Twitter account (twitter.com), having played with him on tour.

yeah, i can tell you what i know, but no one knows much: another suicide attempt, looks bad, coma--if he survives, there may be brain damage
this time, it's real scary: *this* time, he left a note, *this* time, he asked them to call me
This wasn't the first suicide attempt for Chestnutt, who was rendered a paraplegic 16 years ago after a car accident.

|That's a damn shame, but of course not 100% unexpected.
One of the best live shows I ever saw was Vic touring as part of the Undertow Orchestra with Will Johnson, Dave Bazan, and Mark Eitzel.
2007 and 2008 W-League Fantasy Football champion!
A bad week for fans of electronic music: Luc Ferrari is dead Before the days of Kraftwerk, folks like Luc Ferrari really paved the way for artists to use the medium.
