I hope you tip the cocktail servers something, or you will start seeing less and less of them as the night goes on. I only ask for water (diabetic) so I would tip $1 for every other bottle (they would go for $4 in the gift shop)

Oh definitely. So yeah, maybe cheap drinks is a more accurate statement.

There's a special where I can get the four nights there for $120 total. Seems WAY too good to pass up.

As for eating, we're game for just about anything. I know I want to have at least one nice dinner ($100-150 price range) and the rest of the time we can pretty much eat whatever.

The family and I stayed there in January 2001. Enjoyed it. LOVED the views and the rollercoaster (!) atop the building. Recommended.

For buffets, don't forget the Orleans.

And if visiting the $10 blackjack tables at New York, New York...walk away if they change dealers. I'm just sayin'.

Don't all tables change dealers every 20-30 mins?

Can't speak for Blackjack, but everywhere we went for Pai Gow had a constant rotation (including NYNY).

EDIT: By constant rotation, I mean the same two dealers back and forth. A-B-A-B, not A-B-C-D.

At TI I once played blackjack at a table with some pretty drunk Canadians for four straight hours and probably had six different dealers during that stretch.

Dealers switch out every 20 or 30 minutes depending on the casino.
