From CTV

I am getting tired of hearing about Vince whining. Every week there is something new to talk about, but it is always him complaining.

For crying out loud the Raptors have bent over backwards to support this guy, as has this city. Shut the hell up and come back and attempt to play 10-20 games without getting hurt.

As for the proposed deal, I like Ray Allen a lot, but I just don't know...

To any deal that subtracts Ray Allen from and adds VC to the Sonics, I say "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

That trade makes the Raptors better on the court but worse in box office. TO isn't a basketball city, it's a city that goes with the fad. Unless Ray Allen does something spectacular to get their attention, it won't matter if he helps them win an extra game or two.

That said, Vince is losing his lustre anyway. He's never healthy, and he's less than spectacular when he is. Maybe now is the time to get something back for him. You could certainly do worse than Ray Allen (see Damon Stoudemire trade).

I strongly disagree with this. Although they will never be able to compare with the Leafs, the Raptors are still a medicore team that happens to have the 5 highest attendance in the league. Losing Vince won't really decrease the amount of tickets sold that much.

They said the same thing when Stoudamire was traded but the team managed fairly well. Toronto is not Vancouver, we are one of the biggest markets in North America and definately habr a basketball following. It is especially popular with inner city immigrants who's parents cannot afford all the investment that goes into hockey where as in b-ball, all you need is a ball and a playground.

I think Carter luster is wearing off. His charity basketball game would always sell out the ACC, this year was no where near previous years attendance... I think even the marks/casual basketball fans are tiring of his act.

smark/net attack wienerville advisory is raised to YELLOW alert - Elevated (JBL is the new WWE champion, good gawd hide under the desk. But Benoit is World Champion allowing some safety in the IWC)- 6/28

Just to let you guys (mainly in the U.S.) know, regarding the article, Marty York has the same rep as far as rumours go as Bob Ryder does for wrestling. York, who mainly covers the CFL up here, has had a number of false reports credited to him, including our CFL team here in Ottawa folding by the end of the year (which isn't even close, since we're well on our way to selling out the Grey Cup this year).

Take the proposed deal with many a grain of salt, please.

Kobe would fit nicely with a guy like Elton Brand. Plus it's his chance to take a franchise that's never done anything and make them do something.
