Once again went with my free-passes-havin' friend and after the utter disappointment of Ultraviolet, we were safe in expecting a considerably better movie.
The Wachowskis definitely bring the goods to this one, which is a plus for those who didn't much like Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions. You get a fun mix of action and intrigue. Story might be a little hard to follow for newbies like me, but it all unfolds in the end.

I was a bit disappointed at the end when V didn't get unmasked after his death...
...but on the ride home I got to think about that particular ending and ended up thinking it actually works out better. Great visuals, solid fighting scenes and good intrigue throughout. A nice 4/5 from me.
Hugo Weaving reminds me why he is awesome and bald Natalie Portman = hawt.
It's been a while since I last read the comic, but I always had trouble keeping track of the many subplots. This movie, wisely, ditches most of them and updates the story elements (The Voice of England is now a TV host). I loved this film. Truly, madly loved this film. I think the brothers pulled off a solid job of adapting the material, tweaking it here and there, and presenting Really Big Ideas in a digestible, entertaining way. The ending very nearly had me in tears.
You're gonna see a large amount of visual elements taken from The Matrix, and this was the only thing distracting me out of the story. Gotta give it up to Portman for acting her ass off.

They managed to truncate the extraneous elements from the graphic novel into a nice tight little package, and the resulting economy of characters really helped things speed along nicely.
That said, nothing much was changed from the novel, as they managed to not destroy the core of the story. Despite some small elements being tweaked, the most notorious of which being the more prominent romance subplot between Evey & V, everything held together marvelously.
4 stars outta 5, boyos.

My experience was somewhat hurt by the idiots in the theatre who found V's mask and dialogue to be a nonstop source of hilarity, but I loved the movie. A solid 4/5 stars.
