So it looks like Benoit vs. Matt which I think Matt Hardy will win. And Gunn will face let's say Eddy G. and win that one. So the finals seem to go along with the rumored plan of Billy Gunn vs. Matt Hardy. Yes, not very appealing, but most likely.

I think it sounds good. Could we see the impending return of Lita, to feud with Torrie?
The entire storyline could be that Hardy and Gunn would argue as to was the best tag team wrestler or whatever else, since both of them are probably best known for their tag team work.
If anything, Looking at the push that Gunn's getting, I think he'll get the title at the finals.
I think the title's custom made for Cena, yo!
Steven + Faith: Three months of happiness, and a controlling, emotionally manipulative, and psycho sister. Not Faith...Faith's sister. Don't ask. PLEASE don't ask...
We don't know the last quarterfinal entrants yet so one of them could still be O'Haire.
Very true it could be O'Haire vs. Eddie or Tajiri with the other interfering. Putting O'Haire in the final four and letting Eddie an Tajiri have a seperate match at the ppv.
Yossino-I have to disagree somewhat with what you said about Matt Hardy. True the last week or two he hasn't gotten any tv time and that has hurt. But his two matches against Rey, one even being the main event, and then the match against Rikishi where he got a decisive win, have made him look real good lately. I think he is much more ready for the US title now than a few months ago. But yeah the lack of Matt on the past couple of Smackdowns isn't good. They should've atleast put the match with Shannon on Smackdown and let Matt just totally dominate him.
Originally posted by InVerseI'm surprised I haven't heard Sean O'Hare's name bandied around at all in regards to the US title. Not saying that he should have the belt, but he seems like a plausible entrant. Oh well, at least The Cat believes.
I have a feeling it's back to the drawing board for the "creative" team in regards to O'Haire. With Piper's sudden departure, I'll bet these idiots have no idea how to use him anymore.
See you in six months, Sean. Wonder how you'll be repackaged?
Certainly possible, but not a foregone conclusion. In his match with Funaki this weekend on Velocity, Sean was very much in character as a very cold, calculating manipulator. Which is nicely consistent with the promos that most of us liked so much. So just maybe, the time with Roddy was just an aside, & maybe they're going to let Sean run with the character that they'd started to develop. That could be some very good stuff, if Sean's ready to go for it.
Or nobody's fault, just the reality that a lightheavyweight title contender going for world heavyweight gold stretches the limits of disbelief. Chris Jericho came to the WWF because he carried the cruiserweight label in WCW and couldn't shake it.
