Jerry Colangelo had given out a tentative list for the past week. Now that list is official:
CARMELO ANTHONY (Denver) GILBERT ARENAS (Washington) SHANE BATTIER (Memphis) CHAUNCEY BILLUPS (Detroit) CHRIS BOSH (Toronto) BRUCE BOWEN (San Antonio) ELTON BRAND (Los Angeles Clippers) KOBE BRYANT (Los Angeles Lakers) DWIGHT HOWARD (Orlando) LEBRON JAMES (Cleveland) ANTAWN JAMISON (Washington) JOE JOHNSON (Atlanta) SHAWN MARION (Phoenix) BRAD MILLER (Sacramento) ADAM MORRISON (Gonzaga) LAMAR ODOM (Los Angeles Lakers) CHRIS PAUL (New Orleans) PAUL PIERCE (Boston) J.J. REDICK (Duke) MICHAEL REDD (Milwaukee) LUKE RIDNOUR (Seattle) AMARE STOUDEMIRE (Phoenix) DWAYNE WADE (Miami)
I honestly thought that the Iverson snub wasn't that big a deal. But seriously, if LAMAR ODOM (who absolutely tanked in Athens) made this roster, there's no reason to leave Iverson off the invite list. But it's not like Odom will make the final 12-man roster anyway, so I guess it's a moot point.
Originally posted by BigSteveIverson definately should have gotten on the 22 man list even if they didn't put him on the team. He's one of the only guys that cared in '04, and he wants to be there in '08. Bad move.
A team with Kobe and Wade already on it doesnt really need an Iverson too, but I guess they could have put him on the 22 list as a reward for his play in '04. Then again, adding a guy you KNOW you're gonna cut later seems kinda silly.
Hats off to the Celtics for a record-breaking year, the best turnaround in NBA history and a stunning victory over the Lakers to win their 17th NBA championship. Which actually happened two years earlier than I predicted after the Garnett trade.
