Originally posted by Jacksonville's Channel 6A group of protestors stormed and then ransacked a Bush-Cheney headquarters building in Orlando, Fla., Tuesday, according to Local 6 News in Orlando.
Local 6 News reported that several people from the group of 100 Orlando protestors face possible assault charges after the group forced their way inside the Republican headquarters office.
While in the building, some of the protestors drew horns and a mustache on a poster of President George W. Bush and poured piles of letters in the office, according to the report.
"We told them to leave, they broke the law," Republican headquarters volunteer Mike Broom said.
Two protestors received minor injuries when the crowd stormed the building, including a Republican volunteer.
One of the protestors said she wanted to send a message.
"We want to send a clear message to Bush, we want him to take his hands off our overtime pay," protestor Esmeralda Heuilar said.
Local 6 News learned that most of the protestors were from the AFL-CIO and were taking part in one of 20 other coordinated protests around the country.
A spokesperson with the AFL-CIO told Local 6 News that the Orlando protest did not go as planned.
A protest similar to Orlando's demonstration was held at a Bush-Cheney office in Miami at the same approximate time, Local 6 News reported.
As mentioned in the article, both candidates have been here numerous times, Kerry just last week. It's pretty wild, when you think about all that would have to happen to bring it down to (and on) Florida again, but I would like it a hell of a lot better blaming anything dumb that happens on the blue hairs in West Palm rather than people in my own back yard.
"This is a low-rise New York City..."
Hmmm....not exactly what *I* would put on the brochure entincing people to come to Disney World, but at least we have Grant Hill

The remnants of a small fire fueled with John Kerry/John Edwards campaign signs remained on the front steps of the headquarters at 310 Buchanan St. in downtown Lafayette on Thursday morning.
A mixture of ash from the fire and what appeared to be motor oil was used to smear “4+ GWB” across the front windows and “W” on the headquarters’ door.

Haigh also began receiving the first of about 200 angry voice mails, e-mails and death threats.
A week ago, a man walked into the gallery and spat in Haigh's face. On Tuesday, Haigh decided to temporarily close the gallery and began to consider giving up on her dream of owning an art gallery. Just two days later, another man knocked on the door of the gallery and then punched Haigh in the face, knocking her out, breaking her nose and causing a concussion.

A vandal struck Joni Job's car while she shopped this weekend at a Fremont grocery store.
It seems someone didn't like her Kerry-Edwards bumper sticker.
The vandal left his own political message on the side of her car. "Bush in 2004'" was scrawled in red paint.
Her car also has a new dent in the wheel well and a Confederate flag slapped on the back.

Originally posted by San Fransisco ExaminerThe target of the anti-Semitic vandalism spree was [Democrat] David Heller, president of the Geary Boulevard Merchant Association and first-time candidate for supervisor in District 1.
Upon arriving to work Monday morning, Heller was inundated with messages from business owners whose windows had been defaced with swastikas over the weekend. In each reported incident, the campaign sign, which features Heller's picture, was taped to the inside of the store window and the vandal used a black marker to superimpose a swastika and a Star of David symbol in front of Heller's face on the outside of the glass.
While the Heller campaign has suggested that as many as 50 windows may have been vandalized, some were quickly cleaned off. As of Tuesday, police were looking into 11 incidents along Geary Boulevard and another 11 between 12th and 30th avenues, in which the property owners called police and evidence of the hate crimes were gathered.
The vandalism was particularly disturbing for Heller, who is Jewish and whose four grandparents were killed by Nazis in Poland during World War II. Heller's own parents left Poland for Israel in 1937, and Heller said the neo-Nazi smear represented the first time he could remember being the target of anti-Semitism.

Are you saying that only conservatives could be upset at a depiction of our troops as worse than Nazis? I suspect you're right, but there are plenty of liberals who got steamed over this thing.

I suspect it's never right to pull hair, unless you're 11. But I couldn't find this on a news source, just on leftist blogs. I am sure it happened. Oh, this CBS story mentions it, but who can believe THEM? http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/09/10/politics/main642650.shtml

Maybe. Maybe she took someone's parking space. Maybe she was parked in a handicapped space and didn't seem handicapped. Maybe THIS is a publicity stunt too. I question the Confederate Flad up in Washington in any event. But I can't see the story cause I have to register, so OK, I give ya this one.

Number 1 - ALL the people running for the seat, as far as I could see, were pretty left. I thought it was funny that the incumbant was endorsed by the Conservative Voters of America and the Green Party. Anti-semitism isn't limited to conservatives or republicans. In fact, some anti-war groups are blaming the war in Iraq on Jews - maybe this was some of your buddies, OFB? http://www.tau.ac.il/Anti-Semitism/asw2002-3/usa.htm

Am I witnessing Godwin's Law? That's pretty early on in the thread....
It's stuff like this that makes me need to count to 10... I swear, some of you are just too much. I really have to learn to just laugh at it. Anyway...
To somehow connect these racist and anti-Semetic organizations like the KKK and WCOTC with the anti-war movement is just beyond ridiculous. They have no connection, none, zip, zero...
You just dismiss the rest of OFB's points - because he made pretty damn good one's, and it's just easier to throw some KKK links up and be done with it.
Of course, I'm not stating anything you don't already know.

I question the Confederate Flad up in Washington in any event.
Let me tell you that Confederate flags are MUCH MORE prevalent here than you might think. It was explained to me by Mrs. JJD's much older sister's 18-year old country-loving-racist-punk son that it means "the New Cowboy" and isn't offensive anymore. He had it prominently displayed at his WEDDING, of all places.
Don't even get me started on it.

The part of the story where they spraypainted "BUSH IN 04" on her car (that you left out of your quote) seems to indicate that it might maybe just maybe possibly have something to do with the Kerry sticker. I know it's a wild assumption, but I'm gonna go with it.

Finally, unable to make any point whatsoever, you turn the wagons in a circle and accuse me of being anti-Semetic. Which is the point when you officially become no longer worth paying attention to.

Not accusing you of anti-semitism - just liberalism. If I thought CRZ was condoning an anti-semite here, I would never post here or, for that matter visit.
Look, I think you're confusing my arguments of your points with an accusation against you. Spin is everywhere. For example, the chick in SF. She wanted to get her little gallery on the map, so she faked some stories about her getting hassled for putting paintings by some alleged artist in her place. But nobody came anyway, she couldn't play the rent and sho she had to close. That's the follow up to the half-story you posted.
The small business owner who got racially attacked and harassed and who just happens to be running for a seat in the city council and happens to be a democrat - he was racially harassed. People do that from all walks of life. The link I posted from Tel Aviv university and their world-wide respected study on anti-semitism (and can't we accept that Tel Aviv university is some kind of authority on world-wide anti-semitism?)suggests that some recent anti-semitism in the USA is from liberals accusing jews of leading us into war in Iraq. That's their research, not mine. I think we can agree that you're a liberal, OFB, and I was suggesting that liberals might have attacked the unfortunate fellow, not that you were an anti-semite.
For that mistaken inference , I am sorry.
Is it probably getting rough on both sides of the political camp? Sure. But there have now been about 3 or 4 Bush regional HQs either broken into or shot into. Could the bush people be doing this to get sympathy? Of course, but I doubt it. It's also a fact, at least here in southern Hoosierville, that Bush signs are disappearing from front lawns at night in record numbers.
It'll all be over by December 15th when the election gets out of the Supreme Court, because the Dems are gonna take it there no matter what happens.
OK, Chris, ban me if you need to.
