Here's a part of the new era of WWFE I don't like...
So, do I have this right, there's an Undisputed Champion, but now only one belt?
Did H-cubed get tired of carrying two belts?
Good thing he doesn't work for All Japan.

One thing I don't get is that why does HHH get the new belt? I mean Jericho was undisputed champ for 3 and a half months. And I guess this finally proves that they won't be splitting up the titles like everyone says they were.

Maybe they were waiting till the split 'cause they had not yet decided if they should split up the titles or not. Or maybe they were in the process of getting a new one designed and made.

Well you see, apparently they're not making enough of an effort to get Triple H over, or establish him as the top face. No...wait...
You see, Triple H is the first....no...hold on...
Oh, right. Porking the bosses' fat daughter.
Ah, life.

wannaberockstar says: I never got the fact that if you have people fighting you for the belt, then it's not really undisputed that your the champion.. now is it?
I always thought it meant (in boxing, anyway) that no one was disputing the fact that you are the champion for the time being. Like it's understood by all that you are currently the top best #1 guy. I think calling it that was just the WWF's way of saying that the holder of the title was the champion of ALL WRESTLING without mentioning WCW, back when they decided they werent gonna mention WCW anymore.

How much designing does it take to make a belt that looks practically the same exact thing as the old one?

Hey, I'm not defending the belt. I think it blows in comparison to the old ones. Like I said somewhere else, the new belt would make a good IC belt. As it stands now, I don't care for the Undisputed and the IC belts. I was just trying to think of alternate reasons other than the "the WWF is trying to bury Jericho" or "Triple H has too much power" that I knew would come up. But who knows, maybe those are the reasons. I was just hypothesizing out loud. And as I also said before: they better not mess with the tag titles!!! They're the last good belts left.
Strangely enough, when Flair held up that belt, I assumed he was bringing in a new title (my eyes couldn't make out the Triple H nameplate). I then thought, Flair doesnt need a new title, he's already got three on Raw. Vince needs more titles. All he has is the Tag and Cruiser belts. Anyone else think the Smackdown folks need another title to fight for? How bout the revived TV title?
Are you ready for Mahkan-mania to run wild all over you?

I think RAW just needs one less.
EDIT: I meant to say what Eradicator said below about the Euro belt.
(edited by TheBucsFan on 2.4.02 2010)
Caring is the first step towards disappointment.
The simple solution would be to move the Euro title to Smackdown! They have all the talent, but only one singles tilte- the cruiserweight belt (outside of the world title). They really do need a singles title for the midcard guys to duke it out over. It would elevate the usually useless Euro title, and help out the show all in one swoop. I really can't figure out why they put both titles on the same show to begin with. Maybe that switch will come in time.
And by the way: what happened to all those trades that people on the internet were saying were going to happen? The big sites assured us that these were not the final rosters, but judging by the programs started, and the opening credits for Raw, it sure looks liek these rosters are here to stay for awhile. I'm not really complaining, though, 'cause It hought Raw rocked last night.
I don't understand why the Singles Champs (men and women) are free to be on both shows, but the tag champs aren't?
Aren't they theorhetically equal to the single champs?
of course, I really don't want to see the current champs twice a week, but I'd amend that for a worthy team (if there really any left in the company right now).

I really don't think they could improve on the tag belt design. Well, actually, I've always liked the IWGP tag belt design, but I doubt it'd be too popular over here. I kind of like the new undisputed belt. It's not too big or gaudy. It allows the wearer to be the focus of the attention, as opposed to the belt. It kind of makes the statement, "It's the man wearing the belt, not the belt itself." Wow, I am reading WAY too much into a freakin' BELT.
Anyway, I still think it's pretty cool, and so are the tag belts. The others should be re-designed soon though. The Euro belt is just plain ugly, the IC belt looks like a UFO glued to a leather strap and I'd make a comment about the cruiserweight belt, but I don't see it nearly enough (Give me more cruiserweight matches NOW!).

What I'd like to see is have the champ carrying *three* belts from now on. The WWF belt, the "World Title", and the third signifying that he's the "Undisputed" champion. Sort of a Triple-Crown deal.
I don't think it'd be a really good idea to have people challenging for one of the individual belts (not the "Undisputed" one, obviously, that'd be for someone who has them both) but it would, at least, leave the option open down the line if a good story presented itself... someone challenges for one or the other, splits it up, and then a feud over who'll re-unify them or something.
They'd have to make it a huge deal, though, and it'd have to be well-done. Which means it won't happen any time soon. (:

I was at first hoping that three belts would be the case, but I think that the WWF thinks that would be too confusing. I think that's why they decided to go with one- to simplify things instead of a champion carrying around two belts.
And for anyone that wants to take a closer look at the new Undisputed championship belt, you can get a glimpse of it at the wwf title history site. When you mouseover Triple H you can see some of the front plate.

Cruiserweight belt should be redesigned. It was, of course, the WCW Cruiserweight title, and now that the World title is gone, it's the only one that is in that WCW title style. You know, with lots 'o' gold and stuff.

The new belt looks like a merger of a WCW and WWF belt. From WCW it borrows the idea that the fed title should be -all- gold. From WWF if takes the idea of a smaller belt and has more "wwf-ish" engravings perhaps.
I agree with your comment that it would make a nice IC belt. Its not a good world title belt to me tho. Its just too small and plain. The first "small" fed title that was Savage's first I thought was good because the wings made it seem special. Doesn't look like much to fight over now. I agree the tag belts are the best ones currently.
