Every year (to those who may have noticed) I participate in a fund raiser for the Children's Miracle Network called Extra Life. It's a 24 hour gaming marathon. Every year I've been lucky to have raised more and more money and this year I want to raise more than ever.

I've gotten an early start on it and so far gotten some good donations but I'd like to come up with more ways to raise money. Have any of you had success in the past with raising money for charities in unconventional ways that I may be overlooking? What are some ways you've been able to do this? One day a week I spam my FB news feed asking for donations. I've also taken to drawing pixel-art pictures of my friends based on Final Fantasy VI characters if they donate $25 or more.

Thanks everyone in advance!

I know a guy who raised $10,000 for St. Baldricks, but I think that's due in part to the fact his hair went past his shoulders and nobody could remember the last time he'd had a haircut.

What's the best meal you've ever had and what was the restaurant? For those of us who travel for work a lot it would be slick to have a list of great places that might not be well known or get an endorsement for the one's at the top of Zagat's. For me:...
