Sue sent along an email earlier this afternoon, telling me to tell everyone I know to head over to her site - specifically, http://suegrandys.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=20690 - and check out Show #10, which is the interview with ... well, me. Apparently I come off very sweet and lovable, so I think you'll agree that those of you who know me from this board should have absolutely NO trouble recognising me. Or... she's a GREAT editor. I haven't yet listened to it myself, but I was there at the taping, so that's my excuse. You have none! Set aside 41:28 IMMEDIATELY and at the very worst, you can doze off to the sound of my voice. Please feel free to leave comments at HER place before you leave them here...or at both, even. ENJOY

EDIT: Okay, listening now. I feel I should mention that when this REALLLY took place, there were REALLY LONG pauses between her questions and my answers, so don't be fooled. :)

I'll see your uncomfortable question and raise you a stupid one: Do you have to have an ipod to listen to this or will any of your basic computer mp3 players play this?

It is a good rule in life never to apologize. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them.

That was fun!

Yeah, if I had to gripe about anything, it would be that sometimes her edits of the probable "dead air" between her questions and your answers...or any hemming and hawing on your part were a little extreme. Like...nobody on Earth can answer some of those questions as quickly as you were unless it's part of their gimmick and they're giving no thought whatsoever.

That being said, I have enough problems answering those types of questions with people I'm comfortable with in the confines of my own home...I don't think I'd be able to do it in any sort of public forum. You can, apparently.

Thanks! Back to football.

It's just an mp3 as far as I know - I listened to it with iTunes but I'm sure anything would play the file.

Well, sure, it's EASY - the secret is to say "I don't know" EVERY time, then go ahead and give out your bullshit ideas and hope nobody notices until you reveal that fact later in the thread on your message board-- oh, wait.

Good lord, it was like listening to myself! I have heard myself back on tape before and Chris sounded just like me! That freaked me out. Other than that, you came across as very well-spoken and articulate.

The part about achieving greatness was pretty neat. I don't think it's been readily apparent that you ever cared what others thought of you or your work. Obviously, at some point you developed that self-awareness.

Nice Zappa-like quote, too: "things is what they is."

Your response about karma makes me think you'll be watching "Earl" tomorrow night, Chris.

I would agree that you are not as surly since you have been married, also.

The question about immortality being more brazen about what you thought about people made me laugh out loud!

The essence of CRZ.

But no mention of karaoke anywhere.

This was a terrific use of 41 minutes. I have "known" CRZ for many years from the old MiCasa days and writing emails and getting some cool Orbital tapes and sending fondue pots in the mail. This puts a lot more depth to the man and I highly recommend listening.

Almost EVERYONE who's been interviewed is a Staraoke regular, if not host. ;-)

Hello, Ben Folds. You have lost your southern accent and you want us all to love each other.

Sue says she'd gone over 500 listens last week, up about a hundred from a "normal" week. I then burst her bubble by telling her I'd seen about 75 redirects from here. We could all confuse her further by listening to the latest interview with Nat (suegrandys.libsyn.com), yet another Staraoke regular. (I went back and counted... eight of the eleven shows are with Staraoke folk - but she'll have to move through a different circle of friends pretty soon as she's running out )

Well, there ARE a hundred ways to cover one's redneck past.
