This show. It is a good show. Funny. Ellie Kemper is always a delight. Theme song is the most annoyingly catchy thing maybe ever?

I've done that Lion King with my own cat so Titus must be the best guy.

NBC had this thing and gave it away. Of course they did.

I feel like Justin should have more and better things to say about this than I do.

Dear Messrs Zimmermen, can we plz have a Netflix thread icon thx

I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it. The first episode dragged a LOT in the middle. I'll watch more, but it's not "must see" for me.

I have two very minor complaints - it feels an awful lot like 30 Rock in the joke setups and delivery, and Jane Krakowski feels like she's basically playing Jenna Maroney - but other than that, I really love the show. Tituss Burgess is just terrific.

I don't want to spoil it (we're still working through Season 1 ourselves), but the trial episodes are just brilliant, especially the prosecuting attorneys. This show has so many cameos that it's kind of ridiculous.

They don't deserve it.

Oh - one more complaint - the theme song is a horrible ear worm.

There's an alternate universe where this and Community and the final season of PnR and some other never-developed comedy are critically adored and maintaining NBC's Thursday night comedy block. And we watch and post about them weekly and life is good. Perhaps ours is the darkest timeline.

I've been meaning to start a thread about this. Thanks for handling that!!!

YES THAT SONG IS CATCHY AND I THINK I'VE SPENT MORE TIME WATCHING THE SONGIFY THIS VIDEO THAN I DID WATCHING THE WHOLE SHOW. What's great is that there's a video of the uninterrupted interview of the neighbor too. I Iove that the filmed a fake news interview just for the purposes of songify-ing it.

I was a little disappointed with some of the cameos by the end of the season.

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
I would have expected Tina to hold out until later in the series for a bigger role, although I think the courtroom scenes were written just so she could joke around with Jon Hamm. Who, by the way, was obviously Gary Wayne Richard Wayne from the first time they didn't show his face when he was addressing the girl.

Its not as great as 30 Rock, but it hits that same spot. I kinda hope that it is eventually revealed they live in the same NYC. I'd love to see Jenna meet Jacqueline. While they are similar in their craziness, they are crazy in quite different ways.

PINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT NOIR

"They showed Kazarian talking on his cell phone. Tenay said that was a sign of disrespect. West suggested that perhaps Kazarian was phoning in the moves to someone who is going to help him prepare to face one of these wrestlers. That's one of the worst guesses in history for why someone is on the phone."

Watching it all in 3 days was such a sugar rush of joy and laughter. Its joke construction is definitely 30 Rock reincarnate, no more no less, but to me that's a very good thing. There are jokes at the sentence level that I was just floored by. Comedy-wise it was like 30 Rock's DNA from the middle of its run cloned Jurassic Park style, tinkered with, and burst Athena-like into the world. The opening where the news broadcast goes into the (miraculously catchy) viral video was just exhilarating and wrote an entire essay about contemporary culture in just one editing move.

The joke-writing is impeccable but EK is just an absolute comedic force who imbues life into the whole operation. Everyone is great though. The use of J-Krak and Xan retains the funniest aspects of the latter day 30 Rock, Jenna jokes about narcissism and women in society and Society, and the Kayley Hooper youth culture/teen debutante stuff.

Goliath Gary Willikers.

FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS.

And he only says "unbreakable" in an offhand mention of the sunglasses he found! It's a MIRACLE

It was, overall, a decent show. People who say NBC missed the boat on this one are pretty wrong. This is the type of show that would fly under the radar without a major push, and probably end up being canned six episodes in.

Ellie Kemper absolutely makes this show. She fits right into the roll. Titus is a bit over-the-top, which I understand is the type of comedy that a lot like to consume (not me) What I really liked about the show is that it did throw in a few subtle jokes (which is my type of humor) along with the over the top, in your face stuff. Titus probably had the best and funniest lines. Krakowski's character is a good example of how you can perform over the top material in a much more subtle manner, and thus be a lot funnier.

I never watched 30 Rock, nor have any intention to do so. I only watched this because of Ellie and because of Netflix. I'll give any Netflix original an honest shot. Watching Bloodline now.

Why not? It's a really good show with all the stuff you just said you liked in a comedy.

I have a list of about 20 shows I want to watch through. From what I've seen of 30 Rock, it would rank below most of those shows. I already get kinda stressed being far behind on TV. I'm open to a strong, persuasive argument for it; but I never thought much about it until now.

I also don't particularly care for Tina Fey.

I'm five episodes in and this is really, really good. I love the writing. Thanks for the good reviews guys.

If I can't get 30 Rock back, this is the next best thing.

Martin Short (I'm assuming that was him) was great as the surgeon.

I would say watch it for Alec Baldwin. Although I can't
stand him, Jack Donaghy was an awesome character.

Titus made my eyes roll, until his flashbacks of his one man Lion King shows then I was in. Also the lady that plays their landlord Lillian is adorable, I just wanna hug her.

I was pleasantly surprised at who plays the Preacher. I woke up neighbors laughing at this before work. Troll the respawn Jeremy, troll the respawn....

Troll the repsawn, Jeremy was great.

I'm on Team Lillian, too. "Well a man invented high heels, Kimmy because a woman never invented anything."

My favorite episode was Kimmy's birthday party, the flow was perfect with no lull in the middle. Kymmi and the way it's pronounced by [that guy]. I now walk around my house and call my cat Rycki.

I just finished the season. This is my first Netflix binge watch, and it's so funny how they have the little "Go to sleep" and "Do your homework" warnings when they know you've been watching a long time.

"Stop the presses. My paninis can wait."

I did have a bit of a hard time toward the end with the whole "trapped in a bunker" being played for laughs and how the women all so casually returned to the site of their ordeal.

It's a good device to keep Kimmy out of touch with the modern world, but best kept at a distance.

Maybe Martin Short did too good of a job as the surgeon, as the real life inspiration committed suicide:

Enjoyed this way more than Borat (didn't see Bruno). This was one of those movies that seems like it gave everything good away in the trailers, and there were a good deal of things that we *knew* were coming, but they were still great.
