Perhaps the government should get cracking on the proposed plan to cut funding to the UN. Ironically, we are the largest contributers to that anti-american organization. That would free up cash to give to Red Cross, no?

Seems like you worry a bit too much about what people think about America.

So, are we supposed to care about our global reputation?

I dont get why when we make a decision that is in our best interests, we get the "the global community is against that policy" yet when we actually have an opinion about how we're seen, then somehow that is wrong too?

But, I guess if I were Canadian, where 90% of the planet doesnt have an opinion of my nation, one way or the other, I could be pretty much indifferent as well.

The global economy is very important and we as Americans need to make sure that we elect good people to make sure we have a good global reputation.

We have a very BAD opinion about how we're seen. Have we already forgotten about Iraq?

I am sure France would have sent more, but they are spending so much now on Oil, since thier supply of cheap oil was cut off a while ago.

Apparently the subtle route isn't working.

Quit trying to measure each other's dicks.

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.

This would definately give Powell a high-profile ticket out of the administration, while potentially keeping his head above water if he ever decides to jump into a run for office..... * * * * * * * Psst! Is Powell Bound for the World Bank?
