Does anybody know of any good collections of Ultimate Warrior matches? I've never heard of WWF/E releasing any, but there's gotta be some made by either other companies (illegally?) or some made by fans. Any info on this?

Warrior's not really a guy that traders are into. Traders tend to be workrate buffs or hardcore geeks...you get your Benoit comps, your Sabu comps, and your Puro comps, but in all the guys I've dealt with I don't think I've ever seen anyone offering or asking for an Ultimate Warrior comp. Since most of his matches are garbage, there's not a lot of demand for them.

Yeah but...

If ever if ever if ever if ever IF EVER a DVD collection ever called for an audio commentary track, this is it.

That would be worth the $20 right there. :)

Im sure several comps exist of The Warriar. Just go to a serach engine and type in wrestling tape trade. There's hundreds of sites out there that probably have what your looking for. Off hand, I recall a few years ago seeing Warriars earlier stuff when he was the Dingo Warriar, and part of The Blade Runners w/ Sting. Kepp looking.

There's plenty of material for a high quality Warrior DVD/tape collection, if someone ever did one.

* Hogan vs Warrior from WM6 (including his pre-match interview, here he banishes Sean Mooney from the interview set because he is a 'Normal')
* Warrior vs Savage from WM7 (probably the best match of his career, if not above)
* Warrior vs Savage from SummerSlam '92 (another great match, in front of 83,000 people)
* Warrior vs Honky for the IC Title
* Warrior vs Savage in MSG (IC Champ vs World Champ)
* I don't know much about Dingo Warrior stuff, but it would still add depth to take a look at that
* Warrior vs HHH from WM12 (If only Warrior destroyed him and banished him from our dimension in this match)
* At least one Warrior vs Andre match
* Warrior's return at WM8
* If there is any existing footage of Warrior vs Flair from house shows, I'd like to see that
* Warrior's WCW return interview
* DVD menus designed like Warrior's website, with crazy cartoon drawings of himself
* Warrior's promo at the Young Republicans Fair and Trade Show.

I'd buy something with all this on it.

I think there is obviously an untapped market when it comes to the Ultimate Warriar. He is one of the most asked about wrestlers, though he has been gone for years. The majority of the non-internet wrestling marks still love the guy. I think if WWE released The Best Of the Ultimate Warriar on double DVD, it would be a great selling item.

But ALSO, no Warrior compilation would be complete without:

-At least one Blade Runners match if available
-vs. Ted Dibiase, Japan 1990 (I liked this match, actually)
-"What's your name?" "Amanda Ultimate Warrior"
-The Funeral Parlor
-"Trust me"
-Two words: Black Ooze
-Hogan asks who's the fairest of them all, and it's WARRIOR!!

Well, I guess I won't be too successful in finding what I really want. Older Warrior stuff doesn't thrill me, its the character more than the man which interests me.

As far as a Warrior collection, similar to Flairs, I agree that it would make huge bucks for the WWE. EVERYBODY was a Warrior fan back in his heyday, he was the greatest, as far as casual fans are concerned. Psychology has its place, but crazy, insane, off the wall behavior bred fan favor like nothing else. I wish he wasn't so crazy in real life so maybe he could have kept up with entertaining me for a few more years.

The WWE tape library is definatley a goldmine for potential DVD's like the Warriar idea. Maybe WWE could have like a Retro-series of superstars from yester-year, starting with Bret Hart, and eventually other big names from the past like Warriar, Demolition, Randy Savage, Sika, etc...

There's at least one Colesium tape. I know this because UW was one of my best friend's favourite wrestlers back in the day, so I bought it for him as a gift. Maybe he still has it and he'd let me borrow it? Maybe, but I ain't asking him. :)

Speak not to me regarding the lack, or apparent prevailing void that exists, of the non-abundance of Warrior spectacles that have been recorded on normal methods of recording apparatuses. If ever the need arose for public requirement of all that which is known to normals as "Warrior Collection", one would have to but look at his surroundings that pertain to outlets of acquirement. Many are the avenues of which you can journey that shall lead you to the heights of contentment of that which you seek.

...but anyways, I have alot of Warrior's big stuff from 1988 to 1991. Mostly over-the-air broadcast and PPV matches... although I have a Heenan-Warrior weasel suit match and pretty sure the DiBiase/Tokyo match is buried somewhere. If you'd like to do a tape trade, I might be game. I generally don't like making comp tapes, but Warrior's always been a guilty pleasure of mine.

It's been about 14 years since I've seen this but I'll give it a shot. Anyone else feel free to fill in the blanks:

As an attempt to make the new WWF Champion Warrior more kid-friendly, a segment of The Brother Love Show
featuring Warrior as a guest had Warrior introduce one of his Little Warriors (supposedly his niece but do't hold me to that)who when asked her name identified herself as "Amanda Ultimate Warrior". Which of course is smark-funny now unto itself for obvious reasons.

But what proceeded was about 5 minutes of Warrior talking to and annoiting the kid as one of his little Warriors, but him interacting with the little girl was one of the most
creepy, unintentionally hilarious, most whacked out interview segment I've ever seen...and that's just by WARRIOR STANDARDS, mind you.

It was one of those segements never to be spoken of again by the WWF and really at that point, the writing was on the wall that Warrior's title run was about to tank and tank badly. And how Wrestlecrap never gave this segment the treatment it fully deserves I can't figure out.

actually I believe WrestleCrap did recap this ultra bizzare segment on the Brother Love Show, including audio. It was one of the first things they did on the site. I guess it's been taken off now, along with countless other great features. I'd love to have video footage of that.

This is probably the only time surfing the net instead of doing University work paid off...

I think I pinched this from Wrestlecrap and emailed it to a mate...someone in posession of the WrestleCrap CD might post the full article? Or email RD if someone asks nicely???

Vince apparently felt the Ultimate Warrior's character was too one-dimensional and decided to make him more of a "family friendly" champion. So, shortly after the Warrior won the WWF Title from Hulk Hogin in Wrestlemania 6, he cut a horrid promo on The Brother Love Show. It involved him inviting a young girl (like 6 years old) on stage and being all "soft and gentle" with her and eventually KISSING her. The Warrior's popularity, not surprisingly, went down the toilet from there.

I also unearthed this...oh the memories...no idea where I pinched this from

Better watch it quickly before the WWE's copyright hounds get it taken down...it's quite an entertaining match! The "Incredible" Hulk Hogan, eh? Huh.
