Quality thread right here! But I'd still take this over "If you could ask a wrestler anything."
The Ultimate Fighter finale is live on Spike (and presumably Sportsnet in Canada) this Saturday, with Tony Ferguson (complete asshole) vs. Ramsey Nijem (complete douchebag) for the contract. In last week's episode, Ferguson got drunk and belligerent and pissed off everybody in the house, so I guess we have a heel going into this fight.
It wasn't a great season, IMO - too many dull fights and no real (or imagined) conflict between the coaches. I did like the fight last week where that one dude (who can tell who's who, really) got rocked and staggered backwards for a million years before falling over. If someone on the internet hasn't already set that to Punch-Out!! music and sound effects, I might have to figure out how.
Here's the card for Saturday:
Prelims - Shamar Bailey vs. Ryan McGillivray (TUF fighters) - Justin Edwards vs. Clay Harvison - Scott Jorgenseon vs. Ken Stone - Reuben Duran vs. Francisco Rivera - Josh Grispi vs. George Roop - Danny Downes vs. Jeremy Stephens
Live on Spike - Tim Credeur vs. Ed Herman - Chris Cope vs. Chuck O'Neil (the semifinalists) - Kyle Kingsbury vs. Fabio Maldonado - Ferguson vs. Nijem for the contract - Anthony Pettis vs. Clay Guida
If nothing else, Pettis (of the famed shoot Flying Chuck; see below) vs. Guida should be super fun.
Heh. Honestly I didn't want to say much more because I can't remember any of these guys names and was too lazy to do the research. Thanks for picking up the ball.
The Guida fight might be the closest we ever come to seeing a live action Street Fighter.
I'm mostly apathetic about this, but sometimes the cards you expect least from wind up being pretty darn good. And of course....

....hells YES. Not only can Pettis bring the fun, but it's Clay Fucking Guida and his last outing on a TUF finale was pretty spectacular.
Possibly not worth its own thread given the generally low response rates to UFC threads, but I am in every possible way excited for the recently announced GSP v Diaz match up at UFC 137. In all likelihood GSP wins by way of being GSP but it should be massively entertaining while it lasts.

Ditto. Another in a long string of great match ups for both guys. 'Dream fights' like this happen so often in the UFC LW division that you forget how awesome the matchmaking is.

Ditto again. As soon as the Strikeforce deal happened, this was being talked about. UFC didn't waste any time and put it together. The GSP/Silva nonsense will probably never go away, but I am glad that for now GSP is staying where he belongs. Diaz came along as a legit opponent just in time, too, as there are quite a few guys at 170 who are moving up the ranks fast. By the time GSP's next fight is ready to be scheduled, there'll probably be another solid contender for him.
Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her. Harry: That's a special feeling.
Ramsay is a douchebag? I must have missed where he did anything besides be a talented fighter and a funny dude who is willing to make a fool of himself for other peoples' enjoyment. I can't wait for this finale fight, and I hope Tony gets submitted. Guida vs. Pettis should be awesome, and my bias towards Ben Henderson has me hoping for a Guida win.
Oh, and Diaz is gonna win via TKO in Round 3. You heard it here first. And perhaps the last as well.

-Purple toenails. -Tries kissing opponents at weigh in. -Strips for group of men.
Nous ne nous pouvons pas sortir. Anthony Pettis vs. Clay Guida I likes me a Guida fight, but the sky's the limit for Pettis. Aside from hitting THE KICK I've also seen him land a friggin carthweel at least twice, once seriously rocking a guy with it. His sweeps and submissions are just as explosive as his striking.
Tony Ferguson vs. Ramsey Nijem I don't think Mister Lovable is going to fare well on his back, where Ramsey will put him quickly if he's smart. Though the was Ramsey wings, I won't be surprised if he gets caught.
Chris Cope vs. Chuck O'Neil Cold Steel just has more offense.
Ed Herman vs. Tim Credeur Herman's been off for like two years, not usually a recipe for succuess.
Fabio Maldonado vs. Kyle Kingsbury Maybe. I know nothing about Fabio but Kyle came out like a beast last time.
George Roop vs. Josh Grispi If Roop can keep him outside and Grispi looks as bad as he did on New Years'.
Scott Jorgensen vs. Ken Stone Tonight the part of Steve Lombardi will be played by Ken Stone.
Daniel Downes vs. Jeremy Stephens I've picked most WEC guys against UFC middle tier guys. Not happening this time. Danny Boy, the KO is calling.
Justin Edwards vs. Clay Harvison Just picking to pick here.
Shamar Bailey vs. Ryan McGillivray Light some candles, throw on some smooth jazz, and let the saxophone set the mood as Bailey lays on top for 13 minutes or so and whispers sweet nothings.
Reuben Duran vs. Francisco Rivera See: Edwards vs. Harvison

Douchbag's kind of generic then, why not use the appropriate homophobic slur? You probably won't catch a racist calling someone a jackoff.

Because I don't think he's gay, I think he's being a douche.
