Originally posted by J. KyleUFC on Fox was a great night for knockouts.
It was a great night period. Apparently my opinion of DC runs directly opposite to that of the world at large (and Cormier himself) though. I wasn't totally sold on him in Strikeforce, but thought he fought well and smart against Mir, controlling from start to finish and generally looking like he deserved to be ranked up there with the best. General consensus seems to be that he was underwhelming but he did jump up a spot, so there's that.
I continue to be amused that Edgar is ranked Mendes and Lamas at Featherweight but above them in P4P rankings.
Also, looking at those rankings makes me realise how much sense Overeem v Nelson would make (assuming Roy makes it past Kongo) and how much I'd like to see that fight. Also x2, given that Roy's most notable win in the last few years was against.....Struve?....and yet he's up to #6 it would suggest the HW division still ain't that deep.
I think the fact that Rich looks less like a fight should be his strong point. The UFC has always been fighting the stigma of "we're not just bar room brawlers". Let Franklin, a college grad and former teacher, show that point to the world.
