Taken for Yahoo News...

"Mike Tyson showed Saturday night he could still punch with devastating effect, flattening Clifford Etienne just 49 seconds into the fight with a savage right hand reminiscent of Tyson in his prime. "

49 seconds... I'm glad I didn't pay for this, I can get it off Kazaa and it'll be LESS then a 2 megs. Funny stuff.

Hell, watch any sportscast, they'll show you half the fight just in the normal highlights. Its never a good sign when a guy gets knocked down, then decides to take his mouthpiece out himself, then play dead. When the hell is Ward/Gatti III?

It was on Showtime, not PPV. And I wouldn't really say Tyson still has anything. They hand picked this guy because he doesn't move around a lot. Etienne likes to get right in your face and slug it out w/you. THat style is perfect for Tyson. Even Mike said he needs a lot of work before going up against someone good like Lewis and I agree.

Actually the fight was on both. They offered a PPV for anyone who does not have Showtime or who REALLY wanted to see the Jeff Lacy and Diego Corrales fights.

And in the undercard, America's sweetheart Tonya Harding lost her pro debut in a split decision.

I know, what's up with that, I thought the bigger named people were ALWAYS supposed to win on the undercard. I guess Gallooly wasn't around to help her out so she took a fall.

I was surprised by that, as well. Usually, boxers are barely conscious when they get knocked down; not too many take the time to take out their mouthpiece. They could have named this match Tyson vs. ATM, because that's all Tyson used the other guy for: a money machine. (Come to think of it, an ATM would have put up more of a fight.)

And in the post conference Tyson said he was not payed enough for this fight. 5 million dollars was not enough for him? What a jackass.

Reading the subject of this thread my answer is. I don't really want to know what Tyson "has". Whatever he has I don't want.

How about this Tyson claim after the match. Tyson said "I broke my back. My back is broken... It is spinal. I had a motorcycle accident and the doctors discovered it. I was doing my sit-ups, 2,500 a day with my 20 pound weights and one day I couldn't move any more. I asked the doctor 'what's wrong?' and he said 'believe it or not your back is broken'."

Humm I smell a ripping off of an Angle gimmick. Look at me I broke my back this morning and I'm here, I'm jumping around, I'm knocking guys out... Oh yeah Tyson you said believe it or not. I choose Not

I know my ATM tends to leave me on the ground whimpering and crying on a regular basis, so I can't really argue with that statement.

On the plus side, at least Diego Corrales looked pretty good in his one round of work.

I'm just hyped up waiting for next week's big blowout. Anyone want to take a gander at who will win Jones-Ruiz?
