Surprisingly, of the two ex-champions named Ken, it was Shamrock who got namedropped on this week's Impact. Was pleasantly surprised that he still exists in TNA continuity.
This solves the mystery of why Mr. Anderson only made one appearance this year.
I can't say that I'll miss the Ken Anderson tweener/babyface character, but it is a shame that we got so little of him as a heel. He was a dynamic part of the show during his 2010 and 2013 heel stints.
Anderson (much like Aries) was hurt by winning the world title too soon. Indeed, he even won the title at Genesis 2011 without warning (he was only booked for a #1 contenders match, not a world title shot). His time on top was quickly curtailed a month later, when TNA resigned Sting to be the new top babyface and champion. Afterwards, he only was briefly relevant again during a late-2013 feud with Bully Ray to culminate the Aces and Eights Saga. Anderson would have been better served with a more prolonged title chase, until a time when they would have been ready to go all-in for him as the top guy.
With his departure, the only remaining Hogan/Bischoff era Big Star Signing is Jeff Hardy.
Everything about Mr Anderson is awful. Everything he has ever done has been terrible. The fact that TNA stuck with Mr Anderson so long explains TNA. Ken Anderson is an easy bottom 5 all time for me. Hopefully he doesn't start showing up and ruining local events.
