My thoughts: ABC-Private Practice is doing very well. Looks like another successful spinoff for them. Boston Legal is pretty low, but wikipedia says that it stays around because it draws in affluent viewers (the opposite of WWE programming, basically). Saturday Night Football seems like it was a bad decision. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much (or they get better matchups). Cavemen is the worst rated of ABC's new shows, which makes me happy. Samantha Who? (after Dancing With the Stars) and Women's Murder Club (after 20/20) will both premiere within a week. CBS-Kid Nation seems like a disaster, given all the publicity it got. When a show this highly promoted does worse than America's Funniest Home Videos, that really seems like a bad sign. The Big Bang Theory's numbers look pretty good (highest rated new show on CBS). As a viewer, hopefully that means good things. If they have to cancel a sitcom, then How I Met Your Mother seems the logical choice to me. Plus, it's outranked Chuck two weeks in a row? Is anyone else watching this? :-) Viva Laughlin starts up in two weeks, airing after 60 Minutes. The CW-Reaper and Gossip Girl seem good enough to hang around. CW Now, Life is Wild, and Online Nation seem pretty pointless, however. Does anyone know if Smackdown! is cheap for the CW? Or does the fact that it's a show that has new content nearly 50 weeks out of the year help it? FOX-You have to think that Fox expected better out of Back To You as well. Nashville deserved to be canceled. Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader seems to have run out of steam. When the Thursday airing barely outrates COPS, which airs on the wasteland that is Saturdays, the show seems like it's in trouble. The Search For The Next Great American Band is going to take over AYSTA5G's Friday slot in two weeks. MyNetwork-the forgotten network. PIFeedback doesn't post their ratings, so I won't get last week's ratings until Friday. Jail, a reality show about criminals journey through the penal system, is obviously the most watched. NBC-The NFL brings the ratings, as usual. Is it worth $600 million a year for NBC though? The Office has the highest percentage of viewers in the 18-49 target demographic. The lowest percentage? CBS' Sunday night lineup, with 60 Minutes, Shark, and Cold Case in the bottom 4 (CBS' NCIS is the 4th). NBC's Friday night lineup looks horrible. Scrubs doesn't start until October 25th, owing to The Office being a full hour until then.

They are 18-49. Here's the Top 10 in household ratings for last week (these numbers are my own calculations from other figures, full results will be available on Friday) and a reminder of how the ranked in the 18-49 demo:
CSI-13.9 rating (#5 18-49) Dancing With the Stars (Performance)-13.6 rating (#7 18-49) Grey's Anatomy-12.1 rating (#1 18-49) Dancing With the Stars (Results)-11.7 rating (#16 18-49) Desperate Housewives-11.6 rating (#4 18-49) House-11.5 rating (#2 18-49) Sunday Night Football-10.9 rating (#3 18-49) NCIS-10.8 rating (#3 18-49) CSI: Miami-9.9 rating (#9 18-49) Without A Trace-9.7 rating (#22 18-49) | It's False

The fact that Cavemen did a better rating than Kevin Smith's Reaper makes the Baby Jesus cry.

The Big Bang Theory's numbers look pretty good (highest rated new show on CBS). As a viewer, hopefully that means good things. If they have to cancel a sitcom, then How I Met Your Mother seems the logical choice to me.
The hell with that. HIMYM is one of the funniest shows on TV. I exaggerate not a whit when I say it's better than the best of the CBS comedy block combined. It is near legen (wait for it) dary status. | Wpob

You are so right. HIMYM is the BEST sitcom CBS has going and os only outranked by the NBC block of The Office, 30 Rock and Scrubs (personal choice) and Earl. NPH's character of Barney is fast approaching legen (wait for it...keep waiting...) dary status in my mind. Outside of the cast of characters on The Office and Alec Baldwin on 30 Rock, his character is the best thing on TV, let alone CBS.
There is no reason to cancel this show and if they do, then NBC would be foolish not to pick this up and plug into Thursday next year if/when (?) Scrubs hangs 'em up.
If you are not watching HIMYM, then suit up and turn it on. You will not regret it.

Also probably in trouble is "K-Ville", which has lost 37% of its viewers since the premiere, and NBC's "Chuck" (which has lost 30% of its 18-49 viewers) and "Journeyman". | EddieBurkett

And Morena Baccarin guested on How I Met Your Mother! You're freakin' me out, man!
Though, Nathan Fillion's on a pretty cancel-proof show now in Desperate Housewives.

The Office cast, especially Dwight and Michael, are funny sometimes but then other episodes not so much.
