That last column is my attempt to adjust for the day the program airs, increasing the total ratings for that night so that they're equal to Sunday's ratings (the most popular day). This is real quick and dirty, and Saturday's adjustment is too high.
* Once again, there's another Dancing With The Stars recap show on Tuesday, before the normal airing.
* ABC's Wednesday lineup is prempted by the 42nd Annual CMA Awards.
* On Saturday, CBS has decided to air Wedding Crashers, instead of their normal reruns.
* Again again, NASCAR cuts into primetime ABC on Sunday. This week, it entirely preempts America's Funniest Home Videos with the Ford 400 the final race of the Sprint Cup series.

Here's an intersting article about DVRS, which says that even though only 28% of households have DVRs, they've affected the ratings far more than VCRs ever did, even at their apex (90%). It also details the most-DVR'd shows.

FOX announced their winter schedule, so I thought it'd be a good time to detail all the changes coming in the next couple months.

ABC
Dancing With the Stars ends November 25th.
Boston Legal has its series finale December 8th. January 5th, season 13 of The Bachelor starts. It's going to star the single dad that was rejected on The Bachelorette.
According To Jim has its season premiere December 2nd. Imagine that I said that with disgust.
Unless the network orders more episodes, Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money will end sometime in January. Starting January 21st, Lost will air on Wednesdays, so that will fill one of the time slots.
Most Thursday shows end on November 20th (Thanksgiving is the Thursday after that). ABC is no exception.
That Untitled Ashton Kutcher/Tyra Banks show finally has a title. It's called True Beauty and is going to air on Mondays satarting January 5th.

CBS & The CW
All CBS and The CW shows (other than some reality shows) go into reruns late November to 2009. CBS M,Tu,W, & Su shows end new episodes the week of November 24th. CBS Th,F,Sa shows and The CW shows end new episodes the week of November 17th.
As for those reality shows, America's Next Top Model has the season finale on November 19th. Stylista continues to air. Survivor ends December 14th. The Amazing Race has the season finale December 7th.

FOX
Most FOX shows air a new show the week of December 15th, then don't air another new show until 2009 sometime.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles doesn't return until February 13th, in its new Friday timeslot.
No idea when Prison Break comes back. If I have the information right, there should be 7 more episodes at some point.
House comes back on January 19th in its new Monday timeslot.
Fringe comes back January 20th.
Bones returns January 15th, in a new Thursday timeslot.
Kitchen Nightmares goes on break December 4th, then it airs January 15th and 22nd, and then makes way for season 5 of Hell's Kitchen.
Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters airs the last new episode of 2008 on November 30th.
24 takes over Prison Break's timeslot on January 11th.
American Idol starts January 13th, and of course will air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Secret Millionaire stars on FOX December 3rd, and then will air on Wednesday and Thursday with the 6 episode run finished by December 18th. It's a reality show where millionaires will secretly go into neighberhoods to look for people deserving of money.
Also new on FOX is a drama called Lie To Me, about a doctor who knows when people are lying because he can pick up on visual and auditory clues they give off. He uses this to help solve difficult cases. Lie To Me premieres Wednesday, January 21st.
Dollhouse, the new Joss Whedon show, joins Terminator on Fridays starting February 13th. Whedon fans will remember this as the timeslot where Firefly was canceled.
Hole In The Wall returns on Sundays starting January 18th.
The Cleveland Show, the Family Guy spinoff, has been delayed until Fall 2009. They have, however, ordered 9 more episodes, so it looks like this is the one to take over King of the Hill's spot.

NBC
The first half of season 3 of Heroes (subtitled "Villains") ends December 15th. Not sure when the second half (12 episodes) starts. Possibly January 26th, when Momma's Boys is over.
So yeah, Momma's Boys premieres on Tuesday December 16th, and then airs Mondays through January 19th.
Season 6 of The Biggest Loser ends December 16th. Don't worry though, because Season 7 starts sometime in early 2009.
Life has been picked up for a full 22-episode season.
Unlike the other networks, NBC's Thursday shows are only taking Thanksgiving off, then they keep airing (through at least December 18th).
Deal Or No Deal airs on Friday through November 21st, then special episodes air November 26th and December 25th. These appear to be the only new episodes through December.
If Lipstick Jungle isn't picked up for more episodes, and it airs each week, it'll have its season finale on December 26th.
Once the NFL season ends, NBC's Sunday lineup will become Dateline NBC, Merlin (yes, about the wizard from Camelot), Medium, and Kings. What's with all the historical dramas, NBC? No word yet on the exact premiere dates.

*sighs*

We should have known not to trust Fox again with this. I hope it can overcome the stupidity because the concept is utterly awesome, but this move smacks of burying Firefly all over again. Sadly, any potential boycott of Fox is impossible because of House. Hmmm. Maybe I can start protesting against American Idol a little more publicly if what I fear goes down.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

I'm curious though, aren't a lot of people that would like Dollhouse and Terminator watching TV on Friday Nights? Doesn't the Sci Fi channel have their big nights on Fridays? I realize that Fox getting Sci Fi Channel numbers isn't exactly what they are aiming for but the nerds have to have their fix until Battlestar Galactica comes back don't they?

It's too bad Pushing Daisies hasn't been renewed. I know every year there is a show that some of us like that is being canceled too soon but this might be the best one in years in my opinion. It's just so much unlike anything else on television. It's a shame they can find a spot for it.

I didn't know NBC was airing BBC's Merlin. I've liked it so far. For Joss Whedon fans out there Anthony Head is Uther Pendragon, the king and Arthur's father.

Thing is, Fox's track record with sci-fi shows in that timeslot has been beyond disastrous. AICN posted this list of Fox sci-fi shows that have been canceled from that timeslot:

    Dark Angel (2000)
    The Lone Gunmen (2001)
    John Doe (2003)
    Firefly (2003)

Doesn't exactly inspire hope, especially when the original plan for Dollhouse was for it to be the lead-in for 24, pretty much ensuring it an audience right away. Now, people will likely have to go out of their way to find it.

Yeah, but most of those shows all really sucked!

Well, I liked MILLENNIUM and JOHN DOE, but the rest of them were crap.

MANTIS was awesome for its time (and you couldn't travel into the future and meet yourself!)
Sliders was great (before the studio axed continuity, politics, and Arturo)
Strange Luck had a great premise and managed to be optimistic and pessimistic
Freakylinks amused me and I think if it was toned down and done now on Nickelodeon it would be huge (iCarly meets Goosebumps = license to print money)
And finally, The Lone Gunmen was crazy good and I think if the stories had been rationed out once or twice a year filler eps for the X-Files (or the show had started after the X-Files ended) would be remembered fondly. But it still wouldn't have made it to season three.

I'm sorry, but Lone Gunmen was terrible. I liked the characters on the X-Files, but their show just flopped. I blame the writing more than anything else, really. And I won't hear anything bad said about Brisco County, although I admit that the show had really run its course by the time it was cancelled.

Both were only a matter of time. Even on Friday, a 1.2 is not going to cut it. And My Own Worst Enemy fell to a 1.8 with this week's airing.
Updated information says that they're going to keep airing for as long as they have episodes. MOWE will finish December 15th, LJ will finish about December 26th.
The current word is that Friday Night Lights, which has been airing its 3rd season on DirecTV channel 101, will rerun that season in LJ's timeslot. So just like summer reruns, if you haven't seen it, it's new to you!
Also note that Crusoe rated worse than LJ did last Friday, so don't have high hopes for that.
