Let's keep "This Week In TV" short this week. You only get special news.
The Teen Choice Awards 2008 aired tonight on FOX. Also on Monday, American Gladiators and Nashville Star had their season finale. Nearly all of NBC's summer schedule ends this week. If you don't know why, take a look at what NBC's airing on Friday. The Mole doesn't finish up until next week.

On Tuesday, I Survived A Japanese Gameshow has its finale. Wipeout has a new episode, but then goes into two weeks of reruns, so that the finale won't have to go up against the Olympics (Aw man, I was keeping it a surprise until we got to Friday).

Wednesday brings the season finale of The Baby Borrowers, a "town meeting" to discuss the show. Last week, they were taking care of old people, which really doesn't with the premise of taking care of a baby. If your children are old enough to be elderly, you're obviously even more elderly. But I guess they needed something to put into the time slot these last two weeks.

Thursday brings the season finales of Last Comic Standing, So You Think You Can Dance, and Hopkins. America's Got Talent is not yet finished, so we'll see it again in 3 weeks (when it moves from Wed-Thurs to Tue-Wed).

Friday of course means the start of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, popularly known as the 2008 Summer Olympics. It almost seems wrong that we've only had 29 summer olympics, until you remember that they're every four years, which means the first one was 112 years ago (when they had crazy events like tug of war; I for one would be glued to the set if they had a tug of war medal nowadays). So NBC's primetime lineup is the same for the next 17 days. FOX airs Hellboy, and ABC airs War of the Worlds.

And on Saturday, ABC has Shark Tale.

What I learned from watching this show is that the Michael J. Fox show premieres tonight at 9/8C. (I also learned that during all two hours of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" - also, I learned that NBC hates me and I hate NBC.
