You'll see the results are in for all the season premeries that were last week. Obviously the best of the bunch was 24, followed by True Beauty, Scrubs, The Bachelor, then Primetime: What Would You Do?, Homeland Security USA, with Flashpoint, Gameshow in My Head, and Howie Do It bringing up the rear. Interestingly, Flashpoint's premiere was up over its average rating in the first season. I know people mentioned the new episodes of Scrubs and 24. Anyone watch any of the others?
THIS WEEK IN TV * I forgot to mention that According to Jim and Million Dollar Password were put on hiatus, which means we have no idea if/when they'll return. There are 17 more shows that return sometime before April, but we'll get to them. * 24 moves to Monday nights after the premiere yesterday. * Returning this week are The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Two And A Half Men, Worst Week, CSI Miami, American Idol, Gary Unmarried, The New Adventures of Old Christine, CSI New York, Criminal Minds, CSI, Eleventh Hour, Supernatural, Smallville, Kitchen Nightmares, Bones, The Office, Don't Forget The Lyrics, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, Friday Night Lights, and possibly Hole In The Wall. Information on whether the last one is new or not is contradictory. * On Wednesday night, ABC is airing the season finale of Lost, so that you can get caught up on what happened in time for next week's season premiere. * Saturday night, we've got the movie The Pacifier (The W at Amazon) on ABC. * Sunday night on CBS, it's the AFC Championship Game: Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore followed by a special new The Mentalist. * The Sunday night movie on The CW is Mr. Mom. * NBC has a two-hour Dateline NBC followed by SNL Presidental Bash 2008, which I believe aired around election day and was skewed far too much to recent sketches for my tastes.
UPDATE: Bones has now been prempted by President Bush's farewell address. It will run about 15 minutes, they'll air something for the next 45 minutes, and then have the scheduled Kitchen Nightmares.
