Don't Forget the Lyrics and Back To You show what happens when you follow American Idol. Meanwhile, Moment of Truth shows what happens when Idol gets taken away. New shows this week are Oprah's Big Give, Here Come the Newlyweds, Unhitched, and the already canceled quarterlife. Everybody Hates Chris and Aliens in America show what happens to your audience when you go away for a month and move to a new timeslot.

MONDAY-ABC airs a two-hour special on the British Royal Family, followed by a new episode of October Road, CBS has new episodes of Welcome to the Captain and New Adventures of Old Christine, The CW has a new episode of Girlicious, FOX has the two-hour season finale of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (look for Canterbury's Law and New Amsterdam on Monday next week), MyN airs Paradise Hotel and NBC has new episodes of My Dad is Better Than Your Dad, Deal or No Deal and Medium.
TUESDAY-ABC has new episodes of Just for Laughs, According to Jim, Carpoolers (probably the last episode ever), and Primetime: What Would You Do?; CBS has new episodes of Big Brother 9 and Jericho; The CW has a new One Tree Hill; FOX has American Idol followed by the premiere of New Amsterdam; and NBC has a new episode of The Biggest Loser.
WEDNESDAY-ABC has new episodes of Wife Swap, Supernanny, and Men In Trees; CBS has Big Brother 9; The CW has a new episode of America's Next Top Model, FOX has new episodes of American Idol and Moment of Truth, MyN has a new episode of Whacked Out Videos, and NBC has new episodes of Deal or No Deal and Law & Order.
THURSDAY-ABC has new episodes of Lost and Eli Stone, CBS has a new episode of Survivor, FOX has American Idol followed by episode 2 of New Amsterdam (they've only got 8 episodes total, FOX, how quickly you gonna blow through them?), MyN has Sister Act 2 (spoiler alert: they win the competition), and NBC has new episodes of Celebrity Apprentice and Lipstick Jungle.
FRIDAY-ABC has a new 20/20, CBS has The Price Is Right primetime special, The CW has Friday Night Smackdown, MyN has The Mod Squad, and NBC new episodes of Amnesia and Dateline NBC.
SATURDAY-ABC's got Road To Perdition, CBS has two new episodes of 48 Hours Mystery, and as usual FOX has Cops and America's Most Wanted. MyN is apparently supposed to have beach volleyball on, but I can't be sure.
SUNDAY-ABC's all new with America's Funniest Home Videos, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Oprah's Big Give, and Here Come the Newlyweds; CBS has a new 60 Minutes and Big Brother; The CW goes with new episodes of Everybobdy Hates Chris and Aliens In America, along with a reairing of Wednesday's American's Next Top Model, in case you missed it; FOX has new episodes of The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and Unhitched; and NBC the two hour special 100 Most Outrageous Moments of All-Time, which looks like a combination of America's Funniest Home Videos and one of those shows that have outtakes from local news shows and game shows (can't remember the name) with a smattering of videos you may have seen on the internet. 100% uninteresting to me, anyway.

The show garnered dismal ratings for its first episode, approaching levels not seen on NBC since the XFL, and teen demographic and general household ratings lower than a Democratic presidential debate airing at the same time on sister cable network MSNBC. NBC announced that the series was canceled after airing only one episode. Its remaining episodes would air on its sibling channel Bravo following the NBC cancellation. The show only had 3.1 million viewers in its debut -- the worst in-season performance in the 10 p.m. hour by an NBC show in at least 17 years. The show, also got pummeled in the adults 18-49 demographic, where it managed only a 1.3 rating.

But you're right, they do have that pop-up feature, which facilitates rewatching. Last week did a 3.6 overall, and 1.6 among adults 18-49. I'm surprised that's not higher, actually.

Nielsen keeps track of a bunch of demographics (18-49, 25-54, 18-34, among others) but no one who gets that information seems to think its worthwhile to post, except in extraordinary circumstances. | Guru Zim
