CBS' Sunday Night ratings were unavailable due to the football overrun.
THIS WEEK IN TV, NOW LISTING ALL FIRST-RUN PROGRAMMING + ALL SPECIALS: MONDAY * ABC premieres Dance War: Bruno Vs. Carrie Ann. * FOX airs the BCS National Championship. If LSU wins, I've got some money coming my way. * NBC airs American Gladiators in its normal timeslot, airs a new episode of Deal or No Deal, and the 4th season premiere of Medium. TUESDAY * ABC airs new episodes of Just For Laughs, According to Jim, Boston Legal, and Carpoolers. Seriously, they're airing Carpoolers after not airing a new episode in two months? My guess is that they're just burning off the remaining episodes, like they did with Big Shots. * CBS airs the People's Choice Awards. * The CW airs the season premiere of One Tree Hill (last week's was a rerun, sorry I didn't know that before now), followed by another new episode of One Tree Hill. * NBC has new episodes of The Biggest Loser & Law & Order: Special Victims Unit airing. WEDNESDAY * ABC has Wifeswap and Supernanny, and also has Cashmere Mafia moving to its normal Wednesday timeslot. Cashmere Mafia looks like a toned-down (for network TV) version of Sex in the City to me (it is from the same creators). * CBS has new episodes of Power of 10, Criminal Minds, and CSI: NY. * The CW airs episode 5 of Crowned along with the season finale of Gossip Girl. * NBC airs Deal or No Deal and the first appearance of Law & Order in its normal timeslot. THURSDAY * ABC airs Ugly Betty, the season finale of Grey's Anatomy, and speak of the devil, the first new episode Big Shots since it went on hiatus. * CBS airs the season finale of CSI, and a new episode of Without A Trace. * FOX has Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? and Don't Forget The Lyrics. * NBC has the season finales of My Name Is Earl and 30 Rock, along with new episodes of Celebrity Apprentice and ER. FRIDAY * ABC airs a new episode of 20/20. * CBS has new episodes of Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, and NUMB3RS. * The CW airs WWE Smackdown. * NBC is going with new episodes of 1 Vs. 100, Friday Night Lights, and Las Vegas. SATURDAY * ABC is showing Pearl Harbor. * FOX airs a new episode of America's Most Wanted. * NBC airs a new Dateline: NBC. SUNDAY * ABC has new episodes of America's Funniest Home Videos, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and Brothers & Sisters. * CBS has 60 Minutes, Amazing Race, and the first part of a 3-part miniseries called Comanche Moon. The other two parts will air January 15th and 16th. * The CW has new episodes of CW Now and Life is Wild. * FOX airs the premiere of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, a new episode of American Dad, and what they're saying is the season finale of Family Guy. They added Terminator to the name of The Sarah Connor Chronciles, presumably to get people who couldn't remember who Sarah Connor was. Family Guy features a guest appearance by Ricardo Montalban. I bet he says something about Corinthian leather. * NBC has the entire night devoted to the Golden Globe Awards, but reports are that it's not going to happen No idea what's going to air in this spot instead.
SPECIAL BONUS NEWS: The next Survivor, entitled SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA -- FANS VS. FAVORITES has been announced. As you might have guessed, it features 10 returning castaways vs. 10 "super-fans". Of the returners, the only one I really recognize is Jonny Fairplay, although the grave digger guy sounds vaguely familiar (I haven't really watched in a long time). A complete list of contestants is at http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20080104cbs01 .
My first memories of Jack Palance were when he hosted Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and when he played a villain on an episode of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Still, some fond memories, as I loved both shows when I was a kid. RIP Jack Palance
