The last two numbers are the percentage above (below) median. This identifies the shows that have seen their ratings drop. Bionic Woman, for example, was down 31% from the median rating. Shows that continue to fall are probably in bad shape.

This week's programming looks pretty normal. Women's Murder Club is airing a new episode in Big Shot's timeslot on Thursday night, with another new episode airing in the normal slot on Friday. ABC's Sunday night programming is being prempted by the American Music Awards. ABC's Saturday Night Football game is Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech. NBC's Sunday Night Football game is New England vs. Buffalo. Everything else is new programming. Questions? Comments? Concerns?

It was the CMA Awards- I don't know if he includes specials on there.
Yeah, that's right. I had a note to that effect but I accidentally deleted it. I'll check how the special did when I get home, and see if there were any other notes I forgot.
Without looking at last weeks numbers, it would seem tha Without a Trace was high for the week because of the connected episode with the CSI just before it.
Personally, I have never watched the show before last week, and probably won't again as the characters did not interest me much. I just wanted to see how the CSI ended....
There's a World Container with your name on it, and a billion ways to go bezerk!!

That's the other note I forgot to post. Yeah, a 42% increase in total viewers in one week would be basically unprecedented in a non-gimmick setting like this. The Country Music Awards got a 10.1 and a 5.4 in the 18-49 demo. That was higher than all of of the shows that normally air on ABC on Wednesdays.

Don't look at the overall rating, that's just the result of 60 year olds forgetting where they put the remote ;)

That's wishful thinking... but still completely wrong.
Look at the shows that are on during The Office (Grey's Anatomy, CSI) which combined, get about the same ratings as The Office will get if it was the only show on tv ever.
We may enjoy shows like The Office, Chuck, Heroes, Reaper, etc... but the audience for these shows is so small and exact (I.E.: Nerds and Dorks... HEY, I'm one of them, don't blame ME for stating the obvious!) that it's really a miracle that they are even still on the air. Really, look at the highest rated shows not counting Football as then look to see which of those have 'Fan Conventions'. CSI, House, Grey's Anatomy... you don't see the fans of these shows making treks to little town in Ohio to meet up with other fans.
Heroes got lucky last season, there was just enough action to get some of the normal people to watch it and help it slowly build to a somewhat respectable viewing audience (For NBC that is, if it was on ABC or CBS, it would'nt have made it to a second season, much less a full first season), but then they killed it with the time travel plot. That essentially killed it's audience with people changing the channel to something else.
We are in the minority, and we need to just get used to it. When our favority shows (of the year, they never last long...) get's cancelled, hop online and bitch about it for the next few years until another one comes along (Wonderfalls anyone?). Don't worry, there will be others (I'm pretty sure The Office is getting the same ratings Newsradio had, it's just a matter of time... tick tick tick!)
Anyways... uh, I'm really glad to see NCIS building it's following year after year. Keep up the good work!

I remember reading last year that Heroes was NBC's best debuting drama in 10 years or something. Heroes' ratings for last year were great. It was #1 in it's time slot above even the almighty 24 for most of the year.
This year however, I see the numbers drop every week, even the last couple weeks where it's had good episodes, which kinda worries me. Maybe they've pissed off even some of their hardcore fans?
Isn't one of the reasons The Office is still around that it gets great ratings in the "filthy rich people with a lot of money to spend on products they see advertised" demographic?

I believe it does something like the best ratings among people who earn $75,000 or more. Not only that, but it still does very good numbers in the 18-49. Look at the difference between The Office and a show like NCIS. NCIS gets an 11.6 overall rating versus the 4.9 of The Office. But among the coveted 18-49 group The Office outrates NCIS 4.3 to 4.1.
Kind of sucks the strike happens to Big Bang Theory when it's doing so well and got picked up for 22 episodes. Production halted after 8 episodes, so now they have no new episodes left .
Don't make the Professor angry. You wouldn't like him, when he's angry.
David Foster needs to watch his own kids after their Simple-Life wannabe reality show. Even if it is just a publicity stunt, Seacrest can do better than Teri Hatcher. Katherine - she'd get my vote. She's way hotter than Kellie.
