NBC announced that they've already picked up a full season's worth of episodes for 2007-2008 for HEROES, MY NAME IS EARL, THE OFFICE and LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT. Entertainment president Kevin Reilly also said 30 ROCK will be back next year, but didn't commit to an entire second season just yet.

NBC also annouced that TODAY would expand to FOUR hours starting in September. I...cannot comment on this.

This is an aside, but I'm REALLY bummed that classic "Saturday Night Live" episodes have been pulled during late-night Saturday for weekend episodes of "Poker After Dark." Is ANYBODY actually watching that show?

CBS said there'll be at least two more cycles of SURVIVOR, so SOMEBODY'S watching it.

Are you the guy or gal who was actually watching DAYBREAK? Sooner or later, you'll be able to view the remaining unaired episodes on abc.com. (I'm wondering where those episodes of THE NINE are, myself.)

Did anybody watch THE NAKED TRUCKER & T-BONES SHOW? After reading the reviews, I'm now wondering if it's so awful I have to watch it. I mean, you get what you deserve when you tune in to a David Koechner vehicle (no pun intended), am I right?

Nope, I ain't sayin' nothin' about AMERICAN IDOL. Start your own thread.

It has the usual audience among rabid poker geeks. I know it was discussed extensively at my usual Sunday poker game last weekend.

Yeah, but seriously, isn't five nights a week enough? They REALLY gotta ruin my Saturday with it as well?

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

(Just kidding - Kim stopped watching that show two or three years ago, so I'd kinda forgotten about it)

Hey, since I've seen them since post #1, how about some premieres?

The next AMAZING RACE starts Sunday, 2/18.

The next DANCING WITH THE STARS starts 3/19 - it will air Mondays at 8/7 and Tuesdays at 9/8. (Thank GOODNESS it isn't head to head with RAW!!)

The final, final season of THE SOPRANOS will air Sunday, 4/8 - it's gonna be nine episodes this time, and it will definitely be the *final* season for the show. Final. (ENTOURAGE will also be back on that night.)

    The next AMAZING RACE starts Sunday, 2/18.

This is an All Star edition, which worked out horribly bad for Survivor if I recall correctly, and it's somewhat a surprise they'd go back to a gimmick edition after the Family one was panned by all.

I believe I've seen every episode of this series except the first one of the first season, so I should know these people who are coming back, right?

(c&p from tvtattle)

* Rob and Amber
Duh. I don't hate them as much as the rest of the world seems to, but I don't watch much Survivor and wouldn't consider watching their current reality show.

* Team Guido (Season 1),
so they unfroze them from Alaska, I see

* Dustin & Kandice (Season 10)
This is last season's semi-ditzy girls, right? There's so many of them who fit the same exact mold, I wouldn't have complained to take one season off from them.

* Kevin & Drew (Season 1)
off hot dog duty. That cameo was a great moment in how fleeting reality show fame is, when you're not even recognized walking onto the reality show you were in the first place (but then again, no one watched it that year.)

* Oswald & Danny (Season 2)
fab gay, check

* John Vito & Jill (Season 3)
I would think I only remember this team because, assuming you don't live in NY, how many people do you see named John Vito? I don't remember much about her brother/his friend died in 9/11 (which was the thing you'd think they'd bring up every five minutes but respectfully did not) and the 'net folk seemed to like Jill as a tough chick who was non-threatening. They seemed nice if bland.

* David & Mary (Season 10)
Miners. I like them, but I didn't want to see more of them.

* Charla & Mirna (Season 5)
oh no not the small person and trials and problems of being small. It's not like you didn't know you were short when you signed up for the race, it's not like, right before the race started, Phil walked up to you and cut you off at the knees. I mean, I wouldn't want that on me, but I would also know what I was getting into before I started that way.

* Teri & Ian (Season 3)
I...don't know. Old people? It would seem like there would have to be some around here.

* Eric & Danielle (Season 9).
and again, no clue, but here it's because it's a team of two people who were a team last time. Blond Chick + Young Guy + Dating = eh

* Uchenna & Joyce
I like them, but not the "they won, they shouldn't get to win again" whining.

It seems like it should be a more amusing group than it is, but it could be worse.

Seeing that MY NAME IS EARL and THE OFFICE are getting full seasons for 07-08 made wonder ... how long does the typical sitcom air before it starts getting picked up in syndication?

As one of those rabid poker fans, I agree with this. I like Poker After Dark a lot--the blind structure and loose atmosphere make it better than a lot of the other poker shows--but even a die-hard like myself doesn't need an edited version of show I've been watching all week, especially since they have the episodes available on the Web if I should miss one. Stupid. Put the old SNLs back in that spot.

It used to be 100, now, because of the dearth of successful sitcoms, it may be down to 70 or so for local stations to run 5 night a week. That's not counting all the niche channels out there. They'll play shows that may not have even lasted a full season.
