WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Bobby Roode (c) vs “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles This match has very little built as the match was match on the overrun of Impact on Thursday, so some people missed it. Normally you’d expect for this to be a very strong match, but Styles is coming off injuring his ankle at a house show a week ago and his injury usually takes a month to recover from. I’d guess if the match happens Styles’ ankle injury will play a big part of this match and I predict that Roode will go after the ankle and win by ref stoppable. I figure they’ll have another match at the next PPV.
CHALLENGE MATCH “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy vs “King Of The Mountain” Jeff Jarrett I didn’t care about this match seven years ago when it headlined TNA’s first monthly PPV and I don’t care about it today. I suspect Jarrett goes over thanks to Immortal interference to keep this feud going.
X-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Austin Aries (c) vs Jesse Sorensen vs Kid Kash This should be a good match as Aries is great and Kash is pretty good and Soressen has some potential. I’ll predict Aries pins Kash setting up a Sorenson-Aries match for the title next month.
TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Eric Young (c) vs Robbie E Robbie E got pinned by Ronnie from Jersey Shore on Impact and is being rewarded by getting a TV title match. This is weeks after getting beat by Young in a minute by Young on Impact. Yet poor Alex Shelley sits at home and gets no TV time or a PPV match. Anyway I’ll go with Young going over.
TAG TEAM MATCH Mr. Anderson & Abyss vs. Bully Ray & Scott Steiner This is an offshoot from the very good six man match on Impact. It should be okay. I’ll go with Abyss and Anderson to win when Abyss pins Steiner as Immortal continues to fall apart.
UNDEFEATED STREAK ON THE LINE Crimson vs “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan Morgan is lost in the shuffle and Crimson really sucks. Crimson wins in a bad match.
NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH Rob Van Dam vs Christopher Daniels Should be a really good match maybe even the best match at a underwhelming PPV. Daniels is bringing the awesome with his delusional heel character while RVD continues to mail it in and be stale as fuck. Not sure why this is a no DQ match, maybe gives Daniels a tainted win? RVD never jobs and Daniels never win so I doubt it. RVD wins.
KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Velvet Sky vs Gail Kim TNA has done a good job building up Kim strongly as she’s beaten Tara a few times and pinned Velvet this week on Impact. I’m sure Gail will get the title back soon, but not this month.
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Mexican America and Sarita vs Ink Inc and Toxxin Yup a six person match for the tag titles for some reason. These two teams suck something fierce and haven’t gotten any air time lately. It’s so sad what has happened to the tag team division because it was once a major reason to watch TNA. I’ll go with Ink Imc to win this one and nobody will care.
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Bobby Roode (c) vs “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles AJ gets his first PPV title match in 18 months. I was hoping that it would be a bigger deal than this, but as a filler title match to kick off the Roode era it will do. Winner: Bobby Roode
CHALLENGE MATCH “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy vs “King Of The Mountain” Jeff Jarrett Jeff Hardy wins, and I spend the next few months viewing him as the legitimate AAA Champion. Winner: Jeff Hardy
X-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Austin Aries (c) vs Jesse Sorensen vs Kid Kash I think the Aries era will continue for a while longer - at least until Captain Football gets him in a singles match. Winner: Austin Aries
TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Eric Young (c) vs Robbie E I'd like to see Robbie E get a turn with the title, but I suspect that he was only given a push as a Jersey Shore tie-in, and we're done with the Shore until next year. He should really go start up a Youtube show. Winner: Eric Young
TAG TEAM MATCH Mr. Anderson & Abyss vs. Bully Ray & Scott Steiner Never bet against Bully Ray. He wins here to keep him hot for his inevitable world title reign this year. Winner: Bully Ray
UNDEFEATED STREAK ON THE LINE Crimson vs “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan Morgan only wins here if he is getting a world title run soon. I don't see that happening. Winner: Crimson
NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH Rob Van Dam vs Christopher Daniels Unstoppable RVD vs Stoppable Christopher Daniels. Winner: Rob Van Dam
KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Velvet Sky vs Gail Kim Right now the Knockout's roster is very deep, so I am unsure why Gail Kim needs two titles. I don't write the show though. Winner: Gail Kim
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Mexican America and Sarita vs Ink Inc and Toxxin The only other teams in TNA right now that I can think of are British Invasion and Pope/Devon, so I guess Mexican America wins and fights them. Winner: Mexican America and Sarita
Bobby vs. AJ: As much as I think they love changing the title, I don't see it happening. This could be a sleeper MOTYC mainly due to the zero expectations in this match. AJ's ankle is hurt, so that may hurt the match, but AJ will do his best which is why AJ has and will always be their MVP. Bobby wins in a match if I wasn't buying Survivor Series this month would get my money.
JJ vs. Jeff: Jeff and hopefully its short.
X-Divison: Austin Aries, I have no idea who these other guys are.
TV: Robbie, EY' sht is old and it kinda makes sense to have Robbie be the TV champ in a feud about a crappy TV show.
Tag Team: Bully won't take the pin, but his team is going to lose.
Crimson vs. Morgan: Crimson, why I have no idea.
RVD vs. Daniels: Daniels, calling the upset. I do think this could be a good match mainly for fans of old school ECW.
KO title. Velvet, it will be a screwy finish and Gail will win it later. Gail just getting the WWE Diva suck off of her has helped her and hence the division.
Intgender Tag match. Ink Inc. I know they are an IWC joke, but I like them and they have to do something to make the tag team division to make it competitive.
Again if Survivor Series wasn't two weeks away, I would consider getting this. If for nothing else no Hogan, Sting, Flair and Bischoff matches.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.
Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
Bobby Roode (c) vs “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles: Bobby Roode has to win here if they want any hope of him getting over. Roode wins and then pilmanizes Styles ankle afterwards putting another person on the shelf.
“The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy vs “King Of The Mountain” Jeff Jarrett: This match could be fairly decent, or could suck. I dig Jeff Jarrett, always have, but I think Jeff continues on his road to recovery with a win here.
Austin Aries (c) vs Jesse Sorensen vs Kid Kash: Again Kash is a guy I've always liked for no real reason, but I see no reason to take the belt off of Aries right now. Aries retains.
Eric Young (c) vs Robbie E: Eric Young wins, and I am bored
Mr. Anderson & Abyss vs. Bully Ray & Scott Steiner: The bad guys when when Abyss turns again and re-joins Immortal. (Had to find some place for the crazy TNA booking)
Crimson vs “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan: They seem to be really high on Crimson so he wins.
Rob Van Dam vs Christopher Daniels: RVD wins and I think he will be the next challenge for Roode.
Velvet Sky (c) vs Gail Kim: Kim loses due to some sort of shenanigans.
Mexican America (c) and Sarita vs Ink Inc and Toxxin: Remember when TNA's tag division was consistently one of the best parts of the promotion? Now the titles are defended between two teams I don't care about, plus it's being done in a 6 person tag. I don't care who wins so I will go with Ink Inc.
The cynic in me can't help but think that they built this PPV so badly that when it does poorly. They can blame it on the lack of Hogan, Bischoff, Flair, Angle, and the rest of that group. I hope that this is just my cynicism and will not actually be the case, because I think pushing the TNA guys will help the promotion develop in the long term.
Until either guy bulks up to 300 pounds and becomes slow and boring, neither guy will make it to the main event. Vince is too busy creaming himself over Big Show, Albert, Batista, Rikishi, Bradshaw, and Brock Lesnar to care about what the fans want.
