Matt Hughes is a whiny little bitch. (I hope he doesn't read this and find me and kick my ass.)

I'm glad Franklin forfeited the challenge - I was BEGGING him to do that the longer that went on.

Stop messing with Rashad. He's MY MAN

I wasn't any fan of Jorge, but I was ready to root AGAINST Fresno because I was hating Hughes so much. It would be nice (but impossible) for Jason to have won over his coach by showing heart (or whatever) but I'm sure he'll get shuttled off to the other team next week - Hughes hasn't liked him from the start and made his mind up too early.

With Jorge gone, will the focus move back to.....I dunno, Luke? Is anybody left on this show that anybody cares about? Maybe Hughes and Dana White (starring as Dana White) can have a mug-off for an hour.

ALL-NEW TIME NEXT WEEK! FIVE MINUTES EARLY

I don't know if I'll bother with this show now that it's not available to me without a channel change after RAW - especially when I can watch the Packers lose again next Monday!

I am just glad Jorge is gone. He seemed to think that because he trained with Franklin, everybody would fear him. He got punked by a guy with very little skill.

Jorge was my pick to win the WW contract, mainly because he seemed to be the most focused on why he was there. Now I'm sort of hoping for some Jedi magic from Luke. Most of the other fighters just blend together for me this season.

I hadn't considered the possibility that Franklin would forfeit, but when he did and Dana summarized the condition of Team Hughes, I was laughing out loud. Beautiful setup, but at least in terms of the immediate payoff with the WW fight, it didn't work.

As for the fight itself, it was better than I had expected. Going in, Hughes was essentially planning on sacrificing Jason, which as I had said a couple weeks back regarding the mind games with Jorge, I felt was kind of out of line. I mean, at least feign some interest. I thought Jason's pre- and post-fight interviews were interesting, in that he seemed really concerned going in but coming out, he'd beaten a black belt at his own game. I don't think Jorge threw more than a handful of kicks in total and nothing with the knee that I saw. But hey, Jason got his win and congratulations to him.

Oh yeah, Rashad apparently has a deathwish. The promo he cut on Hughes was entertaining, but if he tried to go through with it???

I am also glad they moved on from the obvious RIGHT GUARD product placement to the XIENCE (or however you spell it) placement.

I wouldn't say he got "punked". Jorge is a natural 155 pounder who was fighting a much larger guy in a heavier weight division, plus he was fighting with a crapped out knee. He won the first round and showed some heart. Jorge in reality is probably one of the most talented fighters on the whole show. Yeah yeah, I know I'm a Jorge nuthugger but I really liked the guy. Maybe I liked him more than I should because he was the only contestant this season that actually had a personality. (Ok, Luke has the one note "being crazy" thing but he's barely on the show.)

So yeah, that episode might have been the best of the second season but it's still missing that little detail of having people on the show that I'm interested in and care about. It seems like in the last two or three episodes that the people producing the show realized how boring everyone is this year and decided to focus on Matt Hughes, the most interesting guy on the show. I wonder if Matt is going to come out of this show as a bigger star to the average fan, or as a big heel. I mean, most of what Matt says and does, you can understand his mindset for doing it, he just comes off as a confident prick at all times.

This show is doing exactly what it should do. I'm entirely hooked on this show. I can't wait to see what's next. More importantly for them, I'm getting interested in the rest of the UFC product.

I really liked Jorge's intensity and heart. Now it looks like they'll have to play the coaches against each other more, with Franklin's comparatively laid back approach v. Hughes's patented "Dickwad" style, just because the coaches and Jorge have been owning the show.

Where we stand on the reality show hooks...

Joe Stevenson - Solid in fight, has intensity on his side.
Jason Von Flue - Overcame odds and showed he belongs there.
Luke Cummo - So crazy he just might work...
Rashad Evans - Pissed off Hughes, and that other guy
Other Guy - Mad at Rashad for showboating
Brad Imes - Owns cowboy hat

Von Flue "got lucky" that Jorge has a bad knee. Von Flue
had a huge reach advantage (including the knee lift), but
he was getting his ass kicked until Jorge got hurt.

Dana should spring for Jorge's ligament (cadaver parts?)
and sign a revenge match for the night of the finals.
I expect Von Flue will be free that night.

As for the show... same problems as last season minus the
double edged sword of booze in the house. Challenges are
lame, training is mostly ignored, fighters are limited,
and with the exception of Jorge vs Von Flue too tentative,
and the team concept means nothing because team success
is punished by having to donate a fighter to the losers.

Dana White must have thought he struck gold last season
because he made very few changes. As ratings stagnate
around 1.5 +/- 0.1, I wonder if he is reconsidering that
decision. This show needs help to draw more than their
hardcore fan base. At this point, it's a small niche.
