On Heat tonight, they announced Rey Misterio as weighing 175 pounds.

I would assume that's close to a shoot.

When was the last time someone was announced a) by their real weight and b) with a weight that low?

Admittedly, it's part of the gimmick, but still, it's pretty darned amazing.

The correct answer would be Spike "pound for pound, etc" Dudley, right?
Oh wait, you mean this wasn't a trivia contest? No million bucks? I withdraw my answer then. ;)

He did specify "real weight." If Spike is 150, I'm Henry Cabot Lodge.

So what you're saying is I should have chopped part a) off then, eh?

Sorry we both focused on different part of that line.

Actually, I think Shannon Moore's announced at just under 200 pounds. Probably 198, IIRC.

Give Jeff Hardy a couple more months and he'll be under 200 for sure if he keeps going the way he's going.

Anybody have any guesses as to Rey's actual height? Kurt's not just making it up about Rey being really short. For the kind of flying he does, 175 isn't too out of line for (say) 5'8" ...

5'8". Heh. Maybe if he were Taz or Perry Saturn.

Rey's 5'3"

OK -- he's really, really short. (Yikes! 5'3"?!?!?) Given that, 175 probably *is* overexaggerated.

Keep in mind both Hardys are 6'1" or so, 200 lbs isn't hard to believe if you actually see them. They look smaller in comparison on tv.

6'1"? They're not towering over Spike, sorry.

Is that confirmed, or is that WWE-speak?

Well, in his last round of comment replies, Lance Storm stated that Kane is only 5'8" 205lbs, so base your comparisons on that. That means Rey Rey is about 2'5" and about 28lbs if I'm scaling correctly.

Taken from the WWE web sites, for comparison purposes, from lightest to heaviest among the cruiserweight-or-close-to-it set. Take all heights and weights with several grains of salt, and please, no wagering:

SPIKE DUDLEY: 5'8", 150 lbs
REY MYSTERIO: 5'6", 165 lbs
JAMIE NOBLE: 5'7", 170 lbs
SHANNON MOORE: 5'9", 175 lbs
SHO FUNAKI: 5'7", 180 lbs
CHAVO GUERRERO: 5'9", 185 lbs
HURRICANE: 6'0", 191 lbs
BILLY KIDMAN: 5'9", 195 lbs
TAJIRI: 5'9", 205 lbs
SCOTTY 2 HOTTY: 5'9", 209 lbs
CHRISTIAN: 5'10", 215 lbs
JEFF HARDY: 6'2", 215 lbs
ROB VAN DAM: 6'0", 220 lbs
STEVEN RICHARDS: 6'2", 220 lbs
KURT ANGLE: 6'2", 220 lbs
SHAWN MICHAELS: 6'1", 225 lbs
MATT HARDY: 6'2", 225 lbs
RICO: 6'0", 228 lbs
CHRIS JERICHO: 6'0", 231 lbs
^--- you may laugh now
CHRIS BENOIT: 5'10", 235 lbs

(Is the cruiserweight weight limit still 225?)

Now there's a way to give the cruiserweight title some legitimacy.

Where's Eddy on that list? I'd put his weight under Angle, Benoit or Jericho.

Maybe. But from what we've seen lately, with his muscling up big time, and given that muscle is denser-- if we accept the 220# figure from WWE.com, I'd guess Latino Heat runs maybe eight to ten heavier-- right now.

Aw, hell, I did miss Eddy. He's listed at 5'8", 220 lbs.

Others I missed that are (or may be) in that ten-pounds-away range include:

Al Snow (6'0", 234 lbs.),
Crash (listed at 6'6", 400 lbs.),
Raven (6'0", 225 lbs -- wouldn'ta thought THAT...)
Maven (unlisted, but he's on the skinny side)
Justin Credible (5'11", 225 lbs, pictured on milk cartons)
