With the exception of the Jordan-Bulls (and maybe the Bad Bays-Pistons, though James Donaldson was pretty good and Laimbeer was a good defensive center), that's the way it has ALWAYS been. The championship teams of the 80s had Robert Parish, Kareem, and Moses in the middle. It's no surprise that the Hawks with just Dominique never got to the finals with Tree Rollins at center.
