You know, I'm really getting sick of these people who suddenly want to stick up for Triple H saying "How can you judge him. You don't know him." You're right. But I do know what I see. Well, on Raw, we saw Triple H bury RVD yet again. This is the second week in a row that HHH has made RVD look like a jobber, but there are still those who say that he is not the political person everyone says he is. Well guys, kiss my ass. And I know people will say "Calm down. It's just a wrestling show." Yeah, it is just a wrestling show, but I am a true wrestling fan. Triple H is literally killing the future of the WWE, and there are still those who refuse to see it. I'm passionate about this, because I am passionate about wrestling. And in ten years, I do not want my only form of pro wrestling to be old tapes, because Hunter couldn't put the company in front of his own damn self. People need proof that Hunter is a self-serving politician? Watch the build-up of WrestleMania, where Jericho has to take a back-seat to the Triple H/Stephanie McMahon/Lucy the Dog feud. Watch as Hunter buries Jericho, Booker T, and Kane all year. And watch tonight's Raw. Oh yeah, and Shawn Michaels can claim he's a changed man all he wants, but he's just as bad as Hunter, if not worse. Shawn has a lot of stroke with the WWE, and he could of easely talked to Vince and convinced him that he should put a new guy over. But instead, Shawn makes himself look good every time he's on camera. He makes Rob look like a complete goof on more than one occasion. He wins the World Title in his second match back, and I guarantee you that he will lose it back to his best buddy, Triple H. And I know people will reply to this saying how I take things too seriously, how I'm being too hard on these guys, etc. Fine. Probably the same people who thought Kevin Nash got too much of a bad rap in 1999, or Vince Russo was unfairly judged in 2000. Look how that turned out guys. Maybe in ten years, when WWE is a distant memory, and pro-wrestling in North America is no more, you guys will be singing a different tune. Triple H, Shawn Michaels... you two can kiss my ass.

You're entitled to your opinion.

Personally, I suspend disbelief when I watch wrestling shows, root for my favorites whoever they might be, and just generally enjoy the show because, to me, wrestling in and of itself is entertaining. To me, that's what it means to be a wrestling fan.

But maybe I'm just a stupid mark. You be the judge.

No, you're not just some stupid mark. I respect the people who can sit back and just enjoy a wrestling show and let all the backstage rumors and politics exit out of their minds. I wish I had that ability again, but no matter how hard I try, when I see things like Triple H and Shawn Michaels do what they've been doing over the past few weeks, I just can't help and think "This company is gonna' be dead in a few years." And that scares me enough to become very angry at the people who are killing the company like Hunter and Shawn.

This isn't to knock either viewpoint, but I really don't see to what degree how knowing backstage stuff affects the enjoyment-level of RAW or SMACKDOWN!. Bad television is bad television. Knowing the politics can give you even more reasons to hate it.

Back around 1991, I got to this point where I couldn't stand Hulk Hogan anymore. I didn't have a clue that he and Vince rode their Harleys together, or that Vince McMahon was anything more than the guy in the suit on Superstars. As far as I knew, wrestling was still a real sport where people in funny clothing pounded each other and that the WWF Title was the pinnacle of life itself. Hogan got to this point around 1991 where people who were getting more over than him (Sid, Bret) would be held down so that he could look better and it was pretty transparent to even the most casual viewer what was happening.

It's pretty bothersome when my favorites are written to look like crap. No matter how much I liked Lex Luger back in my "mark days," he was a bonifide choker. No amount of talent can survive abuse like that. He could never beat Ric Flair/Yokozuna and surpass Sting/Bret Hart as the most popular babyface.

Actually it does.

If you don't know the politics, then there's still hope that some babyface will knock off Triple H, that one of your underdog favorites could come up with the big win(like when Bret Hart won the title from Ric Flair out of nowhere).

If you do know the politics, then there's no hope whatsoever and you're constantly in the mindset that no one will ever score a meaningful victory over the AnticHHHrist or whoever the "politician" is.

I've always hated Hogan. Well that may be a stretch as soon as I realized he always won I was bored of his matches. I don't like HHH for the same reason now. His mic work also seems to suck now. I left the room last week when HHH came out during the Michaels & RVD match because I knew what was going to happen. I half watched the RVD and HHH match because I wanted to see if HHH could still spit water and if they would let RVD win. I figured they HAD to because of how stacked against HHH the match seemed. The smark in me thought RVD had to win so they could start building new stars.

Is HHH a face or a heel because he sure got a build up like a face. Ref against him, slow counts, and a clean win point to a face going over a heel.

Since when does bashing somebody with a chair behind the referee's back count as a clean win?

HHH

The only reason everybody talks about the guy is because his name is so easy to type.

If his name was Friedrichstagen Hublerkrumb he wouldn't get nearly as much space taken on boards.

However, I will admit that I don't like Triple H. I'm not supposed to. If I did, he'd qualify as some sort of babyface. Is he doing his job effectively? Yes. I already said I don't like him, and await the day that he gets beaten. Should HBK pinning HHH qualify as babyface payoff? Yes. The guy was pinned by a man who left the business due to the fact that he was a friggin' cripple waiting to happen. Was this man his friend? I'd hope so. This is, after all, entertainment, and I'd hate to climb into the ring and horseplay with somebody I don't like and who isn't fond of me in return. Does the guy politick? Well, he sure makes it look that way, thus cementing hatred.

Now, as for RVD...

You're Vince McMahon. You've just shaken the PTC like a bad case of fleas. You're going to put the belt on Jeff Spicolli?

Okay, unofficially HHH 'roids it up, and this is from HHH's unofficial hate club. Unofficially, so do baseball and football players who make tens of millions more than he does, and this comes from unofficial sources, such as speculation.

Officially, however, the Rock has admitted to taking steroids. Says so in his book. Why aren't we busting his balls?

Because hitting caps lock and mashing "h" three times is simpler than hitting shift, typing "r", releasing shift, typing "o", typing "c", and typing "k". Or, uh, something like that.

In the name of good taste, I will no longer say anything about people who run wrestling websites and cats.

I don't get what you're going for here. I mean just because RVD likes the reefer doesn't really make him self-destructive. Sloppy, yes, but I don't think we really have to worry about his health. I can't even remeber him being injured for a period of time, unlike just about every other superstar.

Please tell me you're joking and aren't trying to argue that HHH(SO EASY YES)hasn't used steroids.

How is a male wrestler taking steroids to enhance his appearance any different than a female wrestler getting breast implants?

Um, because steroids are illegal and dangerous, and breast implants are not. Not to mention the steroid trial that had Vince on the hotseat in the early '90s.

"Breast implants are not dangerous" -- let's call that an uninformed statement. Here are a few links :

  • Links to a number of articles

  • FDA stats on local complications

  • Detailed outline of breast implant risks

  • Briefer outline, with pictures

And those don't cover the basic risks of any surgical procedure regarding anaesthesia, etc.

Simple, why type r-o-c-k when it is so much easier to type Flex. If Flex was on the air for half a show, I know I'd be ripping it.

Hey man, I dig RVD a ton, and really REALLY hated the end of RAW (not cuz I hate HHH, but cuz I think the HBK/HHH feud should be over), but Lexus is right, the dude IS Jeff Spicolli. The point isn't that hes too stoned to work, it's just that he comes off stoned ALL THE TIME. Look at his promos for God sakes...

The PTC has pretty much stated that they will stay out of WWE's business, so I doubt they'll jump all over RVD for looking stoned. I mean, I can see not giving the title to a Jeff Hardy, who's (apparent) drug use is affecting his TV performance, but RVD is, aside from looks, not affected. So Rob should be safe to go to the main-event. But the Clique 2002 is making sure it doesn't happen. PTC isn't the problem. Rob isn't the problem, just like Booker or Jericho aren't the problem. It's Shawn and Hunter, pure and simple. And anyone who doesn't think so must be looking through the world with blinders on.

Where in his book does Rock admit to taking steroids? I know it wasnt during his wrestling days, maybe his college ball playing days but I dont recall reading this.
