    - There's only been one matchup ever between Kentucky & Cornell prior to this, and it was won by the Big Red.

    - Kentucky is 0-3 in games played in the Carrier Dome, site of the East Regional.

The way things are going, seeing Cornell in the Elite Eight is far from a pipe dream.

When, in 1938? How is that possibly relevant at all? I agree Cornell has a decent chance, but come on now, that's a silly thing to bring up even in a 'interesting fact' mention. It was one time and probably before our parents were born.

As an avowed Kentucky fan, I point out that we are using our history from before our parents were born to asert "supremacy" (4 of the 7 titles UK has were before I was born and 2 were before my dad was born). But yes, most of the "historical" info is more trivial than applicable to Thursday, but I *LOVE* trivia so thanks for the info!

I'm worried about Cornell almost as I was about Wisconsin for the simple fact that it's such a styles clash matchup-wise. The kiddie-Cats have shown that having to play outside of their comfort zone (VERY VERY FAST) can play havoc with their rhytyhm. That being said, their last 4 games have been very impressive and a leap forward from how they had been playing through some of the SEC season, so I ultimately think they will win, but I don't consider it a foregone conclusion and will be white knucling a few beers as I watch Thursday night.

Cornell isn't going to play the traditional Ivy hold the ball method. They want to play up tempo, which plays right into Kentucky's hands. And, Cornell was letting Temple and Wisconsin shoot high percentages, but they were forcing turnovers and shooting completely lights out to counter it. Any other team in the tourney, I'd give Cornell at least an even shot. If I wasn't in Vegas for the game, I'd be rooting for Cornell. But, money talks.

Cornell almost beat Kansas at Kansas already this year and I remember almost everyone thinking Kansas was a better team than Kentucky entering the tourney, so I think it's entirely reasonable - if the line is over Kentucky +4, I'd be wary.

Kansas was way more talented not a better team. They just never jelled this year. Hard to say with a 33-3 record but the chemistry was just lacking.

Very few people were saying that before they lost to UNI. They were the prominent pick and won what many called the best conference fairly easily.

If you live out here you would have heard it fairly frequently from Kansas print, radio, and some TV media. Many Jayhawk fans were hoping their talent would overcome. People out here who follow MVC ball knew how good UNI was. Not predicting the upset but new they weren't properly seeded. I don't pay much attention to the "chatter" from ESPN, CBS, etc. They simply aren't/can't be as up to snuff as they should be.

Wow, thanks Butler!

My brackets are rockin' this year. We'll see if Duke, Baylor, and OSU can hold up their ends of the deal tonight.

My friend has one of the more ridiculous intentional brackets I've ever seen. He has Butler winning the title, and has St. Mary's in the final four. He also has got 7 of his elite 8 and his entire final four alive. I'm rooting for him to win. :)

Wow. What a game between Xavier and K-State. It was a shame that either team had to lose. It actually overshadowed the Butler win. Go Cats.

Holy geez! Does he have one of those Coke Zero time machines or something? That has to be in the top 1-5 percentile of all brackets.

The second half was sloppy, but the first half was a perfect storm. 6 made baskets and 1 blown goaltending call were all the offense that UK allowed. The defense turned the ball over and they couldn't stop anyone in transition.

Frankly I'm upset that Foote wasn't called for a flagrant when he took Cousins down and that there have been no replays of that incident. Had the roles been reversed Cousins would have been ejected and the annoucers would have asked that he be arrested.

The WVU-UK game should be outstanding.

If he does, expect overtime(s) in the final. He predicted a final score of 109-105.

If Duke wins the next three games, I'm holding StingArmy personally responsible. They would probably be the favorites in the Final Four if they win today. =/

(Though I think WVU is going to win it all now, which is pretty crazy considering I didn't even know they had a basketball team six or seven years ago.)

Haha, my bad? But if you want to blame me for something, blame me for this:

I came to the realization yesterday that this is the year of my worst sports nightmare. Here is a list of my least favorite teams of all time in each sport/league:

MLB: Yankees
NFL: Saints
NBA: Lakers
NCAAF: any team in the SEC, but especially Georgia
NCAAB: Dook

Oh, and I also had to permanently retire from PLAYING sports due to a gruesome broken leg/torn meniscus/torn ACL/torn MCL combo injury. I'm *this* close to betting my life savings on Dook winning it all.

Today really swung the pendulum: I hate Duke and Michigan State, so of course they win instead of teams I might actually enjoy watching in the Final Four. Duke/MSU would kill me if it happens.

At least it's not quite Duke vs MSU, but Butler is one of my least favorite cinderellas ever (they've beaten Maryland and Syracuse in recent tournaments now). I hope you're happy, StingArmy! =P

Holy cow! After a quick check of the standings I find that if Butler wins tonight, I will win all three Yahoo pools that I entered this year. This completely guarantees that Duke will win.
