WWE.com has announced that "Tough Enough" will return, airing immediately following RAW, and will premiere April 4, the night after WrestleMania XXVII.

The show, hosted by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, will then move to its regularly-scheduled timeslot of 8 Eastern/7 Central (right before RAW) the following week.

So... are we gonna have Tough Enough and NXT (albeit on WWE.com only) at the same time? Will Tough Enough serve to enhance RAW's ratings, drop them, or have no effect?

Anyone excited about it? I've never watched Tough Enough before.

I look forward to hearing Austin dismiss contestants with "that's the bottom line."

I hope we see him drop character and talk shop.

My educated guess: Count on NXT to be G-O-O-N-N-E-E as it surely will take over the timeslots of the countries still airing NXT.

Yea, I think that's more or less why they bothered to run this season of NXT, just to hold to keep a hold of those slots.

Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Infantry, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army National Guard! Job well done in Iraq!

This could be a boon for the entrants in Tough Enough this time around. Austin may be the last guy standing who came up through the territories, WCW, ECW and both the Titan Toon Adventures and Attitude eras of WWF.

Plus, he's got a genuine love for the biz and wants to pass on what he knows to the young'uns who'll never learn in the same way he learned the biz.

These rookies could come out with a wealth of knowledge from Austin. Lucky for them.

So you're saying he could offer them a better and more worthwhile experience than say... Hugh Morris? :)

I think Austin could do well in opening himself up a wrestling school of some sort in the near future if he really wanted to.

Austin's surely the biggest star to work this trainer role, so that's relevant. He'll also be the first who can't actually show the trainees what he wants them to do physically, since he essentially can't (or won't) take a bump. It being Austin doesn't negate the essential problem, however, that unless you get a prodigy like an Owen Hart or a Kurt Angle, the turnaround time from trainee to viable worker on any level in the business is usually several years. By the time they can actually work at a level where the office would dare put them on television, whatever boost winning Tough Enough would presumably give them has dissipated.

I would wonder how hands-on Austin will be with the students, since he's listed as "host" and not "trainer." And unlike previous Tough Enoughs, they're taking applications from Indy wrestlers and guys with experience, so the turnaround shouldn't be THAT long.

Doesn't Austin have neck and back problems? And isn't he most likely out of shape to some extent by now? I'm guessing he'll be a host, and not a hands-on trainer.

I have heard rumors Regal will be one of the trainers and they are trying to get Sensi Al Snow back. If they get those three individuals that will be a show to watch. However, I also see Austin being very limited. I do hope I am wrong though.

Snow is an agent in TNA and I recall prowrestling.net saying a few weeks (a month?) ago that WWE isn't interested in anyone who they aren't investing main-roster TV time with, or any past trainers. Austin, obviously as the host to get ratings, is the exception.

I wouldn't mind seeing JBL on the show as the hard ass prick trainer.

Not real sure why Christian turned face. The last time we saw him he was getting destroyed by C.M Punk and it would stand to reason that he would want revenge. I guess we're supposed to forget that.
